Why does every "survival" gadget have to have a bottle opener? unless you happen to get stranded in a super market or a beer factory why would you need one? that saw would have been better if they made the teeth from tip to stem. the placement of the bottle opener looks like a major weakspot to me.

The reason every "survival" gadget has a bottle opener, is because they are ALL designed, not for actual "survival", but for the "survival" fantasy of the back yard commando. 99% of this GARBAGE would fail in a few hours of actual heavy real world use. The key to spotting the crap is the word "Survival" ANYWHERE in it's designation or name.

Right! As someone who doesn't consume alcohol, I don't see the point of a bottle opener. Sure, there's the off chance you'll find juice in a bottle (I'm not drinking soda/pop). I'd much rather have a can opener ...

i like the self defense , chop, split wood option as well as digging . saves carrying a machete or axe which you cant dig with ... also if you ever tried digging a hole anywhere near a tree you will have encountered roots you need to chop thru. But that bottle opener....lol. eyeroll.

I like the shovel because it's small and compact in how it folds closed. Wouldn't have bought the extensions imo, and the locking system can be suited for hiking uphill with that almost closed position.

I bought this after watching your video, did yours come sharpend? my knife is thick and blunt as the shovel did for chopping, as for a fire starter it did come into its own, had no problems with that at all but I did not scrape it as you did I used the blunt side of the saw, that small part and used it as you would do a knife to cut a tent peg, the sparks came off very well. So not sure if you have to sharpen the shovel yourself after buying it as do the knife but as it came they could not even cut through BUTTER.

yep i accidently ordered the extension poles for 56 bucks thinking i got the shovel, the shovel itself was deceptivly listed by clicking the next tiny thumbnail. for over 280 australian dollars ... as i said to the customer service at amazon while trying to immediately cancel my order . for over 300 bucks i can hire somebody to follow me around all day digging any hole i want with their shovel.

@@EverydayTacticalVids maybe... apparently the 15 minutes it took me to figure out i couldnt cancel the order, and find a number to ring, was long enough for it to not be able to be cancelled. Amazon australia sucks. we get the same stuff u guys get but at insanely inflated prices and in many cases the postage is even more than the product price to top that off. But most of the stuff just insnt available. Ill have to wait a few weeks for my money back according to my call with customer service.

I just ordered this. If you wanted to ditch the middle sections and the knife and firestarter to save weight and just use as a lightweight hiking shovel is this possible? My Cold Steel Special Forces shovel is just too weighty. I'm looking to keep the grams down. Couldn't care less about chopping etc just purely shovel use. The other features are just good to have down the track. Cheers.

So the one thing it's not that good at is digging which is what a spade is for. lol The Army issue spade is better because it is a great spade you can chop with it but it's not that good but you know. I have a machete and a knife and a folding saw I even have a small lightweight hatchet but none of them are very good at digging a hole. Which is what I would want a shovel for. duh
