At 1:21 you say, "two little snaps we have to push in." OMG, I was trying to pull them outward and didn't understand they need to be PUSHED in. Such a small little detail I really appreciate from your video. You saved my repair, thank you!

Unfortunately the video skips the actual crucial steps of removing the canister and the washer, as well as replacing of both!

What happens when the piece on the left in this video with the cap and numbers on top is broken? When I removed the white cap it's lightly spraying water out of the piece that connects to the cap causing a constant noise. My water flex line runs into the hole in the side of the toilet whereas yours runs into the back somewhere. Any suggestions? How can I replace that piece without getting to wherever the water line runs to? Thanks

Just a heads up as a temporary fix. I just popped the bubbles on that o ring and it's been working great. At least while I wait for the overpriced o ring to show up in the mail.

Hi Mark, I'm pretty sure the part number was K-1131496 and I got it on amazon. I'm from Canada and the link I used is no longer available but this one looks like it's the same. www.amazon.ca/Kohler-1131496-Flush-Valve-Seal/dp/B007B13Z12/ref=asc_df_B007B13Z12/ I also found one on Wayfair. American Standard also makes one that looks similar but it's a bit bigger and will not work on the Kohler unless you were to use some scissors and reduce the size by about 1/8 of an inch to match the old one.

Every time I flush this toilet there's a "thud" coming from the tank. It seems like the noise is from the plastic slamming

Hi, I did that but toilet is still running. What else can be wrong. I ordered the part on Amazon and it looks exactly like the one I removed. Please advise.

You're sure it was the exact same size? I know there is an American standard washer that is slightly larger so just checking. If the size is correct for your model make sure there is no dirt or debris in the connection that could be preventing a proper seal.

why is your new washer like 2x the size of the old washer????

Maybe it was just the camera angle or zoom but it was the same size when I put them back to back. I guess I didn't really do a good job of showing that in the video but I assure you they were identical in size.
