If Microsoft Teams says we couldn't sign you in, follow these proven tips to fix Microsoft Teams login issues.
First of all need to check that Antivirus or firewall didn't block it or its services might block it. So better to stop those services first.
Restart the Microsoft Teams app on your computer
Check system time and date
Clear the Microsoft Teams app cache files
Reinstall Microsoft teams
1] Restart Microsoft Teams app on your computer
This is a very rudimentary solution but the work is more often than not done in these cases. Follow the steps below to restart your application cleanly.
Close Microsoft Teams from the background and open Task Manager by searching on the Start menu or with the Ctrl + Alt + Delete shortcut keys.
Under the 'Processes' tab, find the Microsoft Teams application and right-click on it.
Next select 'End task'.
Try opening the application again and check if the error is resolved. If not, try one of the other solutions mentioned below.
2] Check system time and date
Check if the time and date are correct on your computer, which may affect your ability to connect to Microsoft Teams.
3] Clear the cache files of the Microsoft Teams app
Corrupted cache data files can cause all kinds of errors, including the error in question. Corrupted cache can block authentication certificates, resulting in some hiccups when trying to log into an app. Here's how you can clear the cache data of Microsoft Teams.
Open Task Manager via keyboard shortcut key or by right-clicking on your taskbar and further select that option and end the task as taught in the first solution.
Open File Explorer on your computer and paste the following address on the address bar:
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache
This address will take you to the location where the cache files for Microsoft Teams are stored. Users can try to find this section on their own, but it is usually too deep.
Press Ctrl + 'A' to select all files and simultaneously press Shift + Del keys to delete all files. Confirm the process and wait for it to complete.
Fix Microsoft Teams login issues: We couldn't sign you in
The process isn't complete yet because you'll need to repeat it one by one for all the following paths:
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases.
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB
%appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
%appdata%\Microsoft\Team\tmp
Once done, try to log into Microsoft Teams again and check if the error still persists.
4] Reinstall Microsoft teams
Before you start the uninstallation process, you should close the MS Teams application from the background.
Open Control Panel on your computer. Select to view your icons by categories and under the Programs section, click Uninstall a program.
Locate MS Teams from the group of programs that you have installed on your computer, right-click on it and choose Uninstall. Wait for the process to complete to move on to the next steps.
Open the Run prompt by pressing Windows + 'R' key combination and enter '%appdata%' in the blank space. This will open the AppData folder, which stores data for various applications running on your PC.
To make sure that MS Teams is uninstalled properly and cleanly, you need to locate the Teams folder here, right-click on it, and press Delete.
Reopen the run command and this time enter '%programdata%'. This will take you to another hidden folder that stores all program-related settings in it. If you also see a MS Teams folder here and delete it.
After that process is done, you can now head over to the Microsoft Store and download a fresh copy of Microsoft Teams and reinstall it.
