Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help - ya, open miters happen over time with expansion and contraction of the home. But they're easy to fix :)

I use Durham’s Rock Hard Putty anywhere moisture is not a concern. No hardener required, sets fast, stays put, sandable, and paintable.

What if your baseboards are NOT painted, but a wood-type grain (meaning they match the faux-wood laminate flooring), how would you fill-in those? (using a normal wood-filler material, or DAP and then wood filler on top?)
@conradcoolerfiend
3 жыл бұрын
bondo is super overkill for baseboards. If you want something stronger than drydex, use dynapatch, and stronger yet is wood filler.

I went into a home that was 1million plus, all the nail holes were covered in bondo. There were no miter gaps to look at (everything was coped and literally perfect) but i thought that was really cool that he used bondo on all of the door trims. He said it will last longer than the wood and is easily sanded.

Great video. Thanks for adding the materials and tools for armatures like myself. Question: What do you use for big gaps between wall and trim? Do you use plaster? Or just caulk it?

I just put baseboard on and have some areas that are gappy between the baseboard and floor where the board was either warped, or the floor has a dip in it. What would be a good fix for this?
@HomeRepairTutor
3 жыл бұрын
that's a little tough as there's a lot of expansion and contraction between two different materials, e.g. tile and wood. If the gap is less than 1/8" I'd leave it alone

How do you sand with a sponge?
@HomeRepairTutor
3 жыл бұрын
great question, with DryDex you can use a damp sponge to feather it smooth, which makes it a great product for quick fixes. It's a little harder to do that with Bondo because it sets up so quickly

@@HomeRepairTutor thank you!!!! Do you have a video for if yo have a gap between the mirror(builders grade) and the counter top in the bathroom?
@HomeRepairTutor
3 жыл бұрын
@@luvmyjujuntootie you could use a 100% silicone sealant for that; apply the silicone to mirror and counter top after cleaning them, then lightly spray the silicone with water and tool the silicone with a caulking tool, that'll help get a tight joint between mirror and counter

Whooo wee Bondo what a blast from da past. Haven't used that stuff in a long time. I love that Dryex stuff. Use it in our staircase twice a year. Khloe's tough on the walls & trim. Bee's name is BuzzBee (truth I google'd it)👍. Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!
