I think this is my first comment ever on KZitem! I had plantar fasciitis for YEARS and tried so many things. What fixed it for me, practicality overnight, was a sports masseuse who found that the bones on TOP of my foot were locked up. She massaged them and got them moving again. The next day I was nearly pain free, then completely pain free the day after, and it never came back. That was probably a decade ago. So for all of you suffering, try massaging and getting more mobility in the top of your foot, too.

I suffered from plantar fasciitis for years: medication, custom orthotics, injections and PT. I was nearly crippled and my doctor was beginning to talk about the possibility of surgery. One day a student studying under my PT tried her hand at massage. I don't know what she did, but I walked out of that session with less pain than I had in months, and it got better rather quickly. I haven't had any noticeable pain since...and it's been at least 10 years! Bless her 🙏🏾

I am SO THRILLED that I discovered your videos. I'm mid 60s and suddenly developed Plantar Fasciitis in May 2023. I was going nuts for week trying to find a way to help it feel better because staying off my feet wasn't an option and I was in a LOT of pain. Then I discovered your vid showing how to use Kinesiology tape. I immediately ordered some and started using it right away in late July. I'd tried other 'solution'...so what's one more to try! Now, just a few weeks later...the pain is GONE! I also bought the book you suggested to see about helping my lower back pain with this tape. But I'm SO THRILLED that I can now walk around without pain and also take my dogs for a walk again...no more pain! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Actually I suffered from this for a whole year! No conventional pain killer or even homeopathy would stop the pain. What made it go away was an exercise with a small spiky rubber ball that I rubbed all the way up and down my aching foot in a sliding continuous movement for 5-10 minutes every day. That was key to free me from that agony!

I have been suffering with severe PF Pain since February, and I must say I tried this taping technique, and it has given me some relief, I am seeing progress, very slow. Massage has been a big help as well, but I can only do my foot and calf muscles, really need to find a way to work on my hamstrings and lower back. Now my good foot is feeling the wear and tear of carrying the weight, and if that one goes, I am toast. PF is a total nightmare on so many levels, I feel best bare foot or in Ugh boots. I had it 9 years ago and the right shoes fixed it, but not now. Stretches help as well, but don't overdo it. I know people who have suffered with PF, young, old, fat, skinny, does not matter...I also recommend eating healthy, lose weight, get plenty of sleep, and just take care of your body.....Good luck folks, PF is a Hell Ride !

I am a neuromuscular massage therapist and have had success with treating plantar fasciitis in clients when using muscle testing to restore and strengthen the neural pathways between the brain and previously non responsive/inhibited muscles. I always check the low back and hips to make sure that they are moving correctly, functional, and balanced because if not, it's unlikely your plantar fasciitis will go away for good. Once the hips and low back are functioning satisfactorily, you'll notice the feet and ankles begin to gain mobility and flexibility, and may even painlessly crack and pop as they adjust themselves with some ankle rotations and foot movements. Tight calves are very often a culprit. If they're too sensitive to massage, you should have someone hold a trigger point/tender area on the back of your calf gently and with their other hand, gently hold between your pinky and "ring toe" on the ball of your foot for a minute or so. This will drain the adrenaline from the sensitive calf muscle and allow you to massage it and will also help to relax you. You can try this on yourself if you're flexible enough to. It is often necessary to (gently) break up adhesions both on the top and bottom of your feet as well. Hope this info helps someone!

I had plantar faciitis for 1.5 yrs. Mostly because I was bored and did a lot of standing in art class instead of walking. I was thinking I was resting my feet. BUT... you can't do 6 hrs of standing either! My back hurt when I sat so I would stand for hours. I ended up breaking my foot and a few months of recuperation from that cured my PF. I do believe in kinesio taping. It felt completely different when my podiatrist did it than when I applied the tape. Now I have PF again so I will apply tape with your instructions. Seems like it never goes away entirely. Once you get it, you are prone to get it again. Am I right? Thanks Bob and Brad.

One of the worst side effects of my years’ battle with plantar was my foot compensating for the pain. Sit up or lay down and wrap towel under your foot and pull for your strength. Also get some really good slipper with support so you won’t have to wear your shoes in the house. Thanks for the massage gun tip. I am going to use that! 10 years ago I had really bad, painful plantar fasciitis for over a year. I tried the stretching and taping both of which brought relief but didn't get rid of the pain completely. I tried orthotics but they just caused me more pain. The thing that finally worked was a night splint on my foot that kept my foot in a neutral position and prevented me from pointing my toes. I had to wear it every night for a few months until I eventually became pain free. That was about 10 years ago and until recently I didn't have any issues but plantar fasciitis has reared it's ugly little head again. This time I'm getting on it quick before it becomes so bad I have to dig out the night splint again.

about k tape sensitivity: you might find that it doesn't bother you at all when it's dry, but you react when it's wet! I can only wear it until it gets wet and then I need to remove it, or it reacts really badly and makes it impossible to wear any tape on that skin for weeks to months while the reaction heals. also, if you place it and make a mistake, peeling it off without using some kind of oil/adhesive remover and then immediately putting new tape on top will make you more likely to have a reaction when you previously haven't

I have been experiencing tremendous foot pain for about 3 weeks now. Looked it up and it’s plantar faciiatis. I am on my feet for 8-9 hours a day( concrete floors) and I climb up and down a ladder continuously as well. Nothing is working for pain. Some days I feel like I’m standing in sneakers full of glass. I have tried the stretching exercise and that helps ( temporarily) but once I’m up and start walking for the day it starts hurting all over again. After a few hours at work, I am in such pain I want to cry. I limp around like I’m crippled most of the time because the pain is so severe. I’ve taken prescription Ibuprofen, naproxen and neither one touches it. I bought inserts for my sneakers that are specifically for this and that didn’t work either. My dr suggested physical therapy , so I’m going to give that a try. I can only hope that eventually something works, as this is the most unbearable pain I have ever had.

Thank you for making this video and your other videos on plantar fasciitis. I hate wearing shoes. I am barefoot or just in socks probably 80%-90% of the time. Most of the time it's fine, but from time to time I get a case of this horrible horrible condition. I'm following your stretching advice and forcing myself to wear shoes, using a massage gun, rolling on a tennis ball, taping my feet, and my wonderful husband has been massaging my feet every day, and I am slowly improving. It's really bad this time because it took a while for me to recognize that this is what it is. Normally, I get heel pain alone and then I know and it's usually just in one foot. This time, the entire bottoms of both feet were hurting/burning intermittently. I ignored it, and then started to get the telltale heel pain along with the burning pain. Ugh. I think this is the worst case I've ever had. Hopefully, my diligent treatment will help it to heal quickly.

Do the Merrells have good arch support? If so, that might be it. I had serious pain. I went to a podiatrist who cut out thick pads that had adhesive on one side and put the pads in the arch section of my shoes. That instantly stopped the pain. The podiatrist told me that he didn't want me standing or walking without those shoes and that my feet would take a very long time to heal. A year later, I tested my feet by putting weight on them without wearing the shoes and found my feet were healed. Ever since and to prevent reinjury, I buy only shoes and sandals that have good arch support.

Hey guys love your videos and they helped me countless times!! I’m wondering if you guys can help me with tips for fibromyalgia? My mom was in a car accident about 2 years ago and ever since she is in tremendous pain in different spots all the time. She is after trying cbd thc and lots of other things but nothing seems to work. She usually spends her days lying in bed because of her pain and I keep telling her lying around isn’t helping but I guess I just don’t know how much pain she is in. Any tips or medications that come to your mind would greatly be appreciated thank guys!!

What advice do you have for lessening the heel pain due to heel fat pad atrophy? I have tried accommodative orthotics, Tully cups, icing and more.

I thought I had plantar fasciitis but the pain has moved to the top right part of my foot, do you have any exercises you recommend for that area?

I had plantar fasciitis intermittently for 10 years.. tried K Tape for months. Did not help. Fixed it by switching to zero drop shoes (i.e. Altras) which eventually lengthened back of ankle and calf, solving root cause. That was years ago! No need for K Tape, orthotics, etc.

Same here, zero drop shoes are what has helped the most.

Great video. I have had this for a good year or so on and off. I think I damaged my feet standing too long on a ladder wearing incorrect and unsupportive footwear. I will try the tape methods. Thanks. Andy UK

You guys are awesome! I use your stuff daily! I am fighting some bad PF now. If I tape my foot up, does it have any affect on the inserts in my shoes?

I'm currently hiking a long distance trail and my right foot is hurting. At first I thought it was this, but my pain is a little more towards the middle of the foot, between the heel and big toe, under the higher part. Can it still be plantar fasciitis or is it something else? I've tried massaging and now I taped up my foot to try that out. The pain is a bit like the feeling of a cramp that stings into my foot. I'm not in my own country so I want to avoid going to a doctor if possible.

Ok, does plantar fasciitis make your big toe joint hurt when stepping down on it? It feels like my toe is being crushed by a hammer, but I don't have the other symptoms of this.

I tired everything but finally found that by wearing a very snug fitting New Balance 993 running shoe with a Spenco Walker/Runner insole in place of the NB insole cured my plantar fasciitis.

Interesting video. Thank you guys! I’m not sure if this is my problem, but it sounds pretty close. And I’ve had this Bulge/squishy hump looking thing on the side of both of my feet for years!! And most times they flare up. I’m really interested in giving this daily morning massage a try and I want to try the tape trick… Where would I get this tape from though? Thanks guys for advice😊

I have insane heel pain two weeks now. I can barely stand on it most days. Is this what you mean by plantar fascitis? Or is it my Achilles tendon? Both?

So what do you call the numbness, shooting pains, tingling, aches, burning. In the ball of the foot that runs out into the toes. I've been dealing with this for years. 😔
