Actually when I saw what you use to fix it I noticed that they are very similar to couplings and T used for drip irrigation system , the small houses , couplings tees Are the same size. Great detailed video and I checked all that. My problem was where the vacuum hose came through from the hood towards the reservoir. There is a little metal connector and mine was rusted almost shut. Got new vacuum hose and skipped the metal connector right to the first plastic piece. This was AFTER replacing the motor and both spray valves (wish I saw your video sooner). If this doesn’t work for you check where it goes through the hood to the reservoir. THEN buy stuff.

Great Video !! I would have saved a lot of aggravation if I had watched this video before I took the nozzle off and put high pressure air through it. It blew out the small piece inside the nozzle that spreads the spray horizontally. I can't find it, so LOL, I gotta buy a new nozzle. I had the same problem with the anti-backflow valve as well, so I'll need to get a T-fitting as well.
@TightWadDIY
6 жыл бұрын
morifish Haha. Oops. I hope you get it all put back together.
@morifish2621
6 жыл бұрын
@@TightWadDIY Yes, I was able to find that small piece and put it back together. Thank you. From what I learned from taking the system apart, the part that clogs up is a anti-backflow valve. It prevents the windshield washing liquid from flowing back into the reservoir, so the liquid is already at the level of the windshield, and the flow starts almost immediately as soon as you hit the washer switch. By replacing this with a simple T, you'll just need to wait a little longer before you start to get flow onto the windshield. I used a plastic T made for slow drip irrigation, which was about $ 3 for a pack of 5.

TightWadDIY well I destroyed 4 hood liner clips, lost one in the engine bay, and damaged 3. And nothing at all was wrong with my sprayers. Turns out the tube connecting the sprayers and junctions got disconnected. Found the tube in the fender and reconnected. Sprayers work good as new. I do recall detailing the cowl area a few months ago and my towel got caught and I yanked it out and heard a pop sound. That must have been when it got disconnected and I didn’t even realize it till I had to use my sprayers.

It’s a used car that she just recently bought and windshield washers is just something that a person doesn’t normally check on when they’re buying a car. The check valve was actually broke and when she would try to spray water on her windshield, the water/ windshield washer fluid would just pour at the bottom of the windshield. Some idiot had actually put duct tape over the broken check valve trying to stop the fluid from pouring out of it.
