Yep excellent - left earbud stopped charging and this video fixed it. What a terrible design flaw, the internal battery goes below 1V and the charging circuit stops working. Sennheiser should be ashamed.

@@artursk2899So..... If you are correct, and I doubt that very much, you forget to charge them for a few months and they become bin fodder. If this is the case, there should be a warning in the paperwork or a notification in the software. They are much too expensive for this fault to be deliberate.
@TheCuboidman

@@markjordan4593 actually this can happen with li-ion batteries. I had restored two batteries by using an external charger, granted, it was a long time ago, but the general idea is that even if they report they are empty, there is still some charge left, to protect the battery, once that charge is lost, you need to "jump start it", this might degrade it. I do not know about LiPo batteries, but it would not be unheard of. Sennheiser already claimed that there was an issue with their battery supplier, that is why they are exchanging defective ones with MTW4, if yours is dead and you still under warranty.

I came across this and thought there was no way it would work... then I read all the comments and decided to give it a shot. Took a bit to disassemble the earbud, but heat gun on low setting definitely helped loosen the glue. I didn't have the standalone holder for 3 AA batteries, so I just used something I had with 2 AAs, loosely connected two copper wires I had to the ends of the batteries and to the connector ends of my multimeter (black to negative, red to positive), then held the leads where they are shown in the video for 3 minutes. Put it back together and problem solved! Thank you so much for this!

Quick tip for anyone attempting this themselves: If you don't have a "fancy" battery case like in the video or another 4.5V - 5V power source, you can just put the batteries in series (positive pole on negative) and tape them together. I have donr the same thing to wake the right earbud. However, after waking it up it got some weird noise now. Do you have any idea about that?

Heat gun or ordinary hair dryer also work. Put some heat until you feel it's easy to open.

All positive feedback on this but tell me the reason why you have to open them up, would it not be okay to just charge then on the contact points ??
