I was a service director at a dealership that was located right next to the Long Island Sound. I used a ton of these fittings/connectors on fuel systems and rolls of easy bend brake line on trucks due to the harsh salt environment. You will definitely get a pissed off customer when you hit them with a huge parts that exceeds the worth of the vehicle😂. Great job Wes.

That could be true, Wes, except why would they be using that thick of guage for that welding cart? That's not logical to me, especially in a welding manufacturing shop. I'm in the province of Ontario, in the Niagara peninsula. Yes, that's in Canada. I'm thinking that it's going to be this or next year that I'll have enough money to start building quite the fast go-karts. I started learning about automobiles since the second grade of high school, which was in 1982. Yes, I'm 55. Well, not exactly because I was inside my mother 56 years ago. Ever since that second grade of it, that was my absolute best subject. This is due to the DNA that was given to me. That's the reason why I know about it more than any other. The two exceptions are automatic transmissions and electronics. As for deciphering codes, attach the lead into the OBD port, such as that SNAP-ON device you have, and it will show the problem there on the screen. Wes, please continue having yourself and your family an excellent night. B'bye.

I popped for the stainless home run lines for my ‘05 Silverado, but they weren’t $300 when I bought them. Prices have gone up. My lines and sending unit were total rust balls so it was better to replace all of it. I installed the Dorman stainless hard-line kit last summer on my 06. Had to cut the fuel line up in the trans tunnel to get it in place to the back of the motor (coupled it back together with a piece of injection hose) but otherwise it all went well. Wasn't cheap but it fits as well the factory lines and I won't ever need to revisit it in the remaining life of the vehicle.

@@peteysquirrelchaser9028 yeah I looked at maybe doing hard lines instead but it looked like it would be a nightmare to fish them through the route. I got some P-clips to hold the stainless flexi lines in place and it was easy peasy lemon squeezy.

@@davelennie1591 They came in three sections that couple together, the two sections along the frame rails were easy (aside from having to unmount but not disconnect the ABS pump for clearance) but the one from the flex where Wes fixed to the motor wasn't. I took my time and got it all situated as factory lines. I pulled the bed off and redid the nylon from the fuel pump to the metal also. Aside from the one cut I made in the trans tunnel it was gravy. I also flushed about a gallon of fuel through before I hooked to the motor.

I had to do this when replacing my filter (bad clog) but with steel tube, I'm a bit shocked you didn't replace ALL the line. All the spots it goes thru the support brackets are easily rusted 3/4 of the way thru, an extra 2ft of nylon would have been worth future proofing it.

Back in the summertime I replaced brake and fuel lines on a 2001 Chevy 1500, all due to rust. Owner found pre-made fuel/vent lines for it, not sure of manufacturer right now. Had to run from tank to engine as they were rusted badly. Brake lines were all replace just prior to fuel lines. Told owner then that fuel lines would be next. Wasn't wrong. He wound up replacing the transmition cooling lines shortly thereafter. Gotta love living in the rust belt. Michigan here, just NNE of the Indiana/Ohio border. edit; There were 3 lines on that truck. Wes, might I suggest that you lubricate your screw connections, because the reason pipe fitters, and plumbers use pipe dope n tape isn't some much for the sealing faror, as it is to lube the joints, and that lack of friction allows them to not only get the connections tighter, but it doesn't gual the threads either. Yeah I know I was the same way years ago, but after trying it myself, and watching fire sprinkler crew use the electric pipe vice with all the attachments on it use the machine and a pipe wrench and no more than 3 wraps of tape suck the threads all the way to about a turn and a half of the couplings. It doesn't take a genius to understand why they explained that to me the reasons and results of my questions. Have a Great Day, and hope snows not too deep n it's not bitter cold up y'all's way
