For 3 years of highschool I played the school-owned bass trombone that was practically falling apart. I’ve had both triggers fail at the solder joints while I was playing and during a football game it may or may not have been hit by a football and just crumpled the bell lol. Well in my senior year, they finally upgraded to a very nice brand new bass trombone. It was like Christmas. It played so good, the tone was amazing, both triggers were buttery smooth and the slide would glide effortlessly. I really should’ve kept playing after I graduated :( I miss it.

When I was in high school I was so glad my school inherited a Steinway model D my freshman year. Apparently it used to be the first Steinway concert grand in my city, from the 1950s and was pretty much the city’s main concert hall piano for a good while. It’s pretty old but was a fantastic upgrade from the Yamaha we had before. It’s a shame that it really never got played much, I wish to play it again.

Are you willing to deal with the irritation that comes with learning a new thing. You could break a piece of the piano. You could have to put more time and effort into it & still need to call a professional. Is it worth learning to do it?

I just got and tuned an old square grand piano, one notorious for needing professionals with experience. I looked up a couple tutorials and got a decent kit off Amazon and I tuned it in about 2 hours. It takes a bit to catch on but once you do a few notes it shouldn't be a big issue. Just be very gentle and make very small adjustments at first.

I had a very similar experience with my high school but I was in theater. 3/4 years of high school (COVID turned my sophomore year into online schooling 🙄) I was in our theater club and 2 of those years (my junior and senior year) I was the president! We always talked about taking a field trip to NY and seeing a Broadway show. Though this never happened when I was there, the year after I graduated the theater club did what I thought would be impossible and went to NY to see a show on Broadway. I’m glad they got to go but I’m still salty to this day.

Do you need to tune an electric piano
@InventorZahran
7 ай бұрын
That depends on how it produces the sound. If it's a Clavinet with real strings inside, then yes, it has to be regularly tuned. But if it's a Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, or other electric piano with no strings, then no tuning is required. Obviously, electronic keyboards don't need to be tuned because they have no acoustic parts to go out-of-tune.
