It's supposed to spin when you push down. and not catch and spin backward when you let back up. that isn't fixed.

Judging by the views this video has, this fault must be a common one on the Vileda spin mop bucket. Mine locked up after i washed the underside of the bucket which had been left outside, i think some fine grit found it’s way in to the one way clutch bearing. It took a lot of flushing to get it to consistently work again. My bucket had no screws on the cross piece which broke when pulling out the drum shaft but it was easy to drill out the plastic & screw it back down.

mari you have to first remove the metal c clip that is in the shaft groove. Once it’s out pull the spinner dish out firmly. Spraying wd40 on the shaft will help.

Was just about to mop my floors when the pedal would get stuck and not come back up. I didn't want to pull it apart because it was full of water so I thought to try and spray lubricant spray on it and it worked. You can clearly see that rust has built up on the rod. What a poor design. They could of easily used a stainless steel rod to prevent the rust build up. If I was the person in the video I would of put some grease on the rod before putting it all back together to help prevent rust build up. But for those of you having an issue with a stuck pedal try something like WD40 it worked for me, without having to pull it all apart.

I give you an idea. Place one or two coins size round metal flat piece at the bottom. Measure the length of rod and buy right sized Hexagonal top long Bolt. Make the end like a sharpened pencil now put it through the bush till it touches the bottom. Place your basket over this Hexagonal Head. It will easily swing as bottom is pointer like children play ""TOP""" with a string. Also put small holes here and there of the plastic bottom rod housings. It will avoid water getting trapped and get rusted or getting black coating due to heat.

The lower sprocket in which the spindle fits has some small metal cyclinders that grip the spindle when you depress the pedal. After I took mine apart 4 of these tiny cyclinders fell out of the sprocket. I think the problem is the spindle and the tiny cyclinders corode together and become stuck to each other. I can only assume either regular lubrication or possibly WD40 will help to prevent the problem.

The bearing is locked on the shaft. I can't take the bottom off. What I do ?
@williambagot3789
3 жыл бұрын
Look into it just behind the red pedal, there is a metal shaft with a small white gear at the bottom. Spray WD-40 onto that shaft and let it soak down through the white gear to the one way bearing just below it. Keep pushing down the pedal and adding more wd-40 until the one way bearing breaks loose and returns to normal operation. To be clear, you do not actually need to take it apart at all to address this symptom.

Hi! Thank you for your video. Do you have any idea how to fix this if the spin pedal comes up slowly and spins in reverse now? It seems to have lost the mechanism that caused it to only spin in 1 direction, now if you press down it spins one way and then spins back as if it’s been wound up. Lmk if that makes sense or not..
@long-dongvonbraun501
4 жыл бұрын
x0xbabidollx6x there is a one way bearing or roller clutch bearing inside the pedal that grabs the bottom of the shaft to spin. Sounds like yours is rusted and locked up. Maybe try taking it apart, cleaning and greasing everything. The spin mechanism is a good idea but poorly executed. Best of luck, hope this helps

Hi Karen, I had the same problem. i took it apart and noticedIt that one of the two lock washers was missing. I took the parts to a lot of places (hope Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, but could never find the right size lock washer until I went to Fastenal, I does not look exactly like the existing one, but it fits and works just fine now. Good luck!

Sadly it's called manufacturing to fail a stainless steel shaft would have maybe give it a lot more longevity. My own bucket has stopped working after 18 months the ratchet isn't engaging the cog so I can't get it to spin. I will have a look at it and see if I can fix it but if not I won't recommend this mop and bucket system to anyone as good as it is (and it is good) when it is working the cost of replacement is not worth it. As I can't seem to find a way of replacing the bucket without having to buy a new mop with it.
