I cannot recommend enough reading "GTD with Things 3" by Eric Bowers. It's an excellent read. All of my friends and I are using Things 3 to manage our lives. The fear of loosing track of important issues is greatly reduced so I feel like I'm ok with doing other free-time things. One important suggestion: tags should be thought of as modes of activity, like "I'm wanting to get work done", "I"m going to spend time running errands" or "I willing to take time calling people on the phone". The idea is: when you're in the mode, you can type in the mode and get a list of things to get done all in that same mode. Meaning, areas and projects are things to get done to complete a goal while tags are things to get done by common activity. Thinking this way made a big difference to getting things done for me. My two cents.

i thank your suggestion, i will certainly try that out. been testing things and figured it's the best to apply GTD (the best for me of course). It's so fluid, beautiful. Their Someday, Anytime native lists work so good as the GTD ones. Is there any telegram/ reddit group that GTDiers using Things 3 could share some experiences?

thanks for the video, Chris. I am glad you hit the issues about GTD not being enough and not spending more time on the productivity app/setup than doing the work, so often tinkering around with your setup ends up doing the complete opposite of what a productivity system is supposed to do.

Thanks Chris! All of your videos are super helpful and an inspiration to automate in order to be more productive. My GTD apps are Things 3 and Agenda. One thing I've been doing since Agenda doesn't have reminders is to copy the agenda link as a note in that respective task in Things 3. Hmmm, something I should explore to automate as well. I've also been incorporating Drafts into my workflow since learning more from your video on that app. Keep them coming!

I appreciate when some one shares their "systems" with total honesty. And as you said, the system never gets "done", it always keeps evolving. Nice video, Christopher.

GTD is a great book but it breaks down in this always connected time we are in. Two books to check out are Atomic Habits and Make Time

OmniFocus. It was built from the ground up with GTD in mind, and I don't believe there's a better implementation of it around. I've been using it since launch, and would happily recommend it to anyone.

I use Todoist. It seems how I organize my work is much like how GTD works. I'll have to give it a read. When you came back to your established projects and tasks and reorganized, did you keep all of them or re-evaluated and toss some of them?

I don't know how Chris is doing it, but it can be done with picture-in-picture in iMovie or corner pinning in Adobe Premiere (try searching youtube "Peter McKinnon corner pin" for good examples and tutorial)

Are you fixing something called Fixing something called a "Task Manger" or did you misspell Manager? I want to learn more, I ended up with all Apple products (phone, computer, & tablet) and I am in need of techniques and strategies to GTD in a more efficient manner

Very interesting Video! But tbh... Clarify and organize looks more like a way of spending countless hours instead of actually getting things done. I mean, the time this takes looks like most fancy version of procrastination I have seen so far?! What am I missing? Also: how can there be no mentioning of priorities? This seems to me like the most important part of all... I can easily understand how you can be burned out, if you can't say no to "unimportant" things. Something like Stephen Covey's 4 quadrants helped me a lot...

Creating Flow withe OmniFocus by Kourosh Dini, is an awesome perspective on Getting Things Done. I especially enjoyed his second version which interlaced the practical method is using the application with the psychology of being effectively productive, and addressing things that come up that can sabotage your ability to stay organized and productive.
