Good work there by Joe, the 205 is coming along. The improv parcel shelf is actually a really good solution. Nice to see it was kept in the PSA group too. That rust on the inner wing was rather spectacular but it has been repaired neatly. He made the right choice outsourcing it to someone who knows how to weld it, safety should always come before DIY pride 👍 great video 😁

I just stumbled across these videos and your guys channel, and i really like them, my mom had a Red 3 Door Peugeot 205 XSD with the 1.9l Diesel with 63-64hp, manual sunroof, Devil rear muffler and slightly turned up Diesel Pump in the 90s, it was her first new car and i am planning on making one of them into my first car as well. Well, either that or a Citroen BX or Xantia.

I got the 205's larger, rarer and somehow cheaper sister, a 309. And even though mine is a petrol engine and very few components are actually shared across these two cars I still learned a ton that will help me fixing my car. Though something I will have to disagree on is the Peugeot's rust tendency. I don't think there are any better rust-proofed cars from the 1980's than Peugeots and Citroens. Just compare them to Volkswagens or Vauxhalls/Opels or god forbid, Fords of the same era.

French cars have been the most rust-proof in general since the early 80's in my experience. If this 205 was born as a Fiesta/Polo/Corsa it wouldn't be around any more.

Y because Peugeot was the first manufacturer to try and design their cars to avoid rust traps. So 205s were generally very good for the era.

There are literally ZERO reasons for this project being done this way... For example, I've been around 3d printed stuff, that gear knob will feel horrible in hands for a long period of time because of its roughness... The face of the car was not really mended and it still looks very errr... Beaten up... There is a reason for human progress... People want to have better and more sensible and comfortable things in their lives... An XUD powered, bottom specced, +200k, basically dead, yellow colored old 205 PUG is not cool nor is it practical... Its not any normal teen dream daily car... Its not any sensible persons dream car. It can be cool and nice from historic POV, if restored properly to original "like-new" state... This? Its a pile of sort of cheap junk being restored the cheapskate muppet way (except for that rust repair which was done sort of nicely) for no reason at all... Its just... Pointless...
