Welcome back to Mehl's Mountain Garage. Today, follow me along as I fix the dreaded cowl leak on my 2007 Chevrolet HHR. The are plenty of good video's out here on this. The issue is the plastic sheet on the passenger side of the cowl starts leaking, right into the passenger floor pan. I would end up with 1.5 inches of water on that side
This particular car has a 2.2 liter Ecotec and a 5 speed manual. The HHR model years are from 2006 to 2011, and the HHR shares the GM Delta platform with the Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, and Saturn Ion. This may be the same for those vehicles, but I can't remember.
This video is kind of instructional, so I'll talk as I take it apart and you'll see it really doesn't take but a whole 20 minutes to remove and replace the part. Or, if your like me, you can re-use the old piece of plastic. I cleaned mine up, removing the dried out strip caulk and using #Permatex Right Stuff..
www.hhr.net is a wonderful source for HHR owners to get a whole plethora of information. Anywhere from tire sizes and part numbers, to instructionals on how to replace things.
Please, if you like the video hit the like, and subscribe for more content! Leave me some comments so I can make the videos better. Do you want follow along, instructional, more talking, less? I'm trying to reach 1000 subscribers!
