I really like the idea of moving the sage abilities into the wheel because I swear they are always so hard to get to when you really need to. Also I like the editing, better than anything I ever could!

4:00 You ever look at the colours of the sage icons and the abilities and realise that they could have matched most of them (putting yunobo below ultra hand, sidon below fuse etc)

Honestly you could swap Mineru off the wheel for Tulin. It actually makes sense to walk up to the construct to mount it.

Or being able to hold the whistle/down button that you can use to call the sages anyway. Hold down and scroll through the sages.

Tulin serves during battle also, saved me a few times with his headshots. How would you call him into battle if it’s not in the air?

He would be reserved exclusively for air combat or would only spawn when fighting flying enemies - Dakota

That's silly, why would you restrict him to only air combat and enemies. He's headshot a Lynel for me a few time. I wouldn't restrict abilities just for the sake of "clean" UI.@@TheSwitchClicks

The reason the wheel didn't work was the timing/responsiveness of it, not the (admittedly ridiculous) choice of what was on the menu. When switching powers you had to hold the L button for a half a second, then the menu appeared, then there was an additional half a second delay before the stick would start working, then you could finally select the power and release the L button. The built in delays in that process led to thousands of attempts to switch powers only to accidentally release the L button before the stick started working which meant your power didn't change and you had to start over. Very poor UI, just not primarily due to the reasons in this video.

I wonder if that’s just a symptom of the Switch’s rendering speed capabilities. - Dakota

IMO the Amiibo shouldn't even have a spot on the wheel, it should just activate as soon as you scan an Amiibo. Hold the Amiibo over the analog stick, the Amiibo glow shows up in-game, and to actually spawn the Amiibo item, press the Action button that now says "Scan" As for the Sage abilities, they should ALL be like Tulin's ability and the Champions' abilities in BotW in that they're activated by certain button inputs/actions, instead of us having to run up to a Sage and activate their ability in the middle of battle. Sidon's water wall could be tied to our shield and function one of two ways: with a shield equipped, it activates when we're guarding and the splash is sent out with a shield parry, but without a shield equipped, we still get the protective bubble and the splash is sent out normally with a weapon slash. Riju's lightning should be activated like the other arrow fusions and have a slot in the arrow fuse menu, probably the first slot by default, so we activate it by going through the same motions we do when fusing something to an arrow. Yunobo's charge can be activated when we throw something; like Riju's lightning, it could take up the first slot in the throw-item menu, and we select it with the same motions we go through when selecting an item to throw (i.e. we throw him like a Pokeball). Mineru's Construct would IMO be the only Sage ability that would need to be on the ability wheel; selecting it on the ability wheel Summons her and spawns her Construct, and selecting it on the wheel again Dismisses it (but for ease and peace of mind I would personally keep the ability to Summon or Dismiss Sages in the Key Items inventory). They would all have cooldowns, but these cooldowns could be lessened by finding Sages' Wills. Riju's cooldown would be the longest, next is Sidon's, then Yunobo, Tulin would have the shortest cooldown, and Mineru could have a health bar where, if it reaches zero, her Construct despawns and has a long recuperating period (we could Dismiss her to heal before her health bar reaches zero, but that would start the full cooldown, so we'd have to weigh pros and cons of keeping her out at partial health or choosing to Dismiss her to heal). While Summoned they could still all travel/fight alongside Link, and they'd be able to activate their abilities *from a distance* when the right inputs are performed, instead of having to run over and be right next to Link

I know placing sages in the ability wheel is a popular idea, but it's persoanly one I absolutely hate. Reason being that the game already forces you to pause so much while doing common things. For instance, combat has Healing, arrow fusion, weapon/shield/bow changing, autobuild, and technicaly recall. All just for combat. I would hate to add sages in there as well. Don't get me wrong, it would be better than what we have, but I think making eveyone activate in a way similar to tulin (be in a spesific state + press A) would be so much better. That way you could activate them without pausing the game, and without accidentaly activating / having to chase the sages down. Sidon is easy. Dodge + Press A. This perfectly fits his half defence half offence ability. Dodge away from an attack and press A to get a shield. But if you get a perfect dodge, you can press A to activate the shield, and then do a flurry rush that would do extra damage due to the additional water attack from the shield. Next up is Riju. I propose Bow out (As in tapping the bow button quickly) + press A. The main problem with this ability is that the ability needs time to charge up an aoe before it can be of any use. So with this, you can quickly take out your bow and press A, starting the charge. Then put it back with B. Then you can shoot an arrow shortly after that when the aoe is far enough. Yunobo could be aiming throw weapon + press A. Pretty much the only intuitive way to do this. He also gets to keep his Riding vehicle + press A activation. Tulin already does this, so no need to mention. And Mineru can stay as she is currently, thus being the only one you need to go near in order to activate. With the rest only being activated by State + Press A.

@7:05 They could have made the slots a bit more narrower and then had 9 sliced wheel, and then just like everything else you can just hold L1 and select.

Only when using Rauru's arm abilities, does all the sages dissaapear in a beam of light into the hand, when fliying its just Tulin. ANd on machines its just yunobo, etc. And sometimies theyll spawn but theyre like dropped wherever, so youll be on a small ledge but two of them spawned down on the lower elevated area, and you cant use their ability, cause oyu got be beside them but cant summon them right away with their like supposed powers and ability to be there no matter what #poweroffriendship

“And remove the Amiibo option” Whelp, lemme stop you right there and take you to corporate for some “mental realignment therapy”. No way this would ever happen. There is a frickin’ Screenshot-and-share button on my left joycon (instead of a 2nd home button) to tell me that the execs prioritize some stuff over player joy and fun.
