The T6 Aluminum plate is powder coated and ready to be mounted to the jon boat transom. To fix this jon boat transom, the plate will be bolted through the transom and sealed with 3M M5200. This will greatly increase the strength of the transom and will allow the weight and force of the motor to be distributed better on the transom.
Bolts used - Stainless, 3/8", 2.5" long

So I clamped the plate in place and made sure I liked the location of it. Then I used the plate a guide and drilled the holes at the bottom first, and worked my way up. I did this to try and push that metal bubble up and correct the issue I was having. Once the bolts were in and everything looked good, I taped off the area around it because that M5200 is some messy stuff. Once all the tape was in place, I took the plate off, sanded the transom plate mounting surface and the back side of the transom. Cleaned both of the surfaces and then applied the M5200 to the transom plate. After the transom plate was covered with the M5200, I was bolted and clamped to the transom! I used the regular M5200 so it will stay bolted and clamped for at least 7 days to allow it to cure completely.
