Today I'm getting to work on this mid 60's VBB. I actually don't know the year of it, and who's to say its even correct? That's because this is whats referred to in the vintage Vespa world as a "bodge" which is short for Vietbodge and refers to Vespa's that have been "restored" in Asia. There are tons and tons or them out there for sale, found on eBay usually they can often be built from multiple scooters, and sometimes be very dangerous.
This particular scooter belongs to a friend and its not the first time I've worked on it, and I even have one that was put together by the same company that made this one. I've seen a lot of bodge's and this isn't even close to some of the scarier ones I've come across.
This VBB had been sitting up and the electrical wasn't working properly requiring a little diagnosis, and it had a busted shift tube on the headset that needed swapping out.
In this episode I also showcase a little trick I use for tightening up gear cables.
