A quick, no messing guide about what I did to replace a worn Cam Chain Tensioner (CCT) on my 2004 FJR1300A, 57k miles.
THIS VIDEO IS PURPOSELY QUICK, OFFERING BULLET POINT DIRECTIONS.
NO RAMBLING EXPLANATIONS.
IT'S EASIER TO PAUSE THAN SKIP THROUGH SOME GUY RATTLING ON.

I made these videos because I couldn't find any which were concise and detailed enough. I have never done a CCT on any bike, and never worked on an FJR before. I used the very excellent written guide on the FJRforum.com (big thanks to those guys). So I made something I hope will help others to do what is considered an intimidating job, but which was in fact quite easy with the right tools.
You will definitely benefit from an 8mm ratchet spanner. It must have a thin ring otherwise it will be too fat to work on the CCT bolts.
You will also benefit from a long ratchet drive.
And a long thin slot head screwdriver, thin enough to enter the CCT housing, if you want to retract the spring and check the plunger is definitely out and floating. I didn't do this because I didn't have the screwdriver.
The CCT was renowned to be weak in the early models.
Some lasted 70k, others 16k.
The one I removed seemed to be original (no spot) on a 2004 with 57k miles.
