It’s shit like this that gives music true meaning not only into the universe but also within our own interpersonal realities. The beat and the wavelengths carry our minds through the universe. This is why I appreciate artist who create such music; and audience members who vulnerably give-in to what the beat is trying to tell us all; listening and allowing it to guide you anywhere throughout time and space.

After listening to her music on repeat and watching and listening to a few interviews over the course of a couple months, I can now officially say I love fka twigs. In the beginning it was so hard to get into it because I was still saturated with the formulated mainstream music on the radio and I couldn't tell, if I liked it or not but I still added it to my playlists. It didn't take long to really like her music but it did take this long to know if I wanted to follow her music, to see where she takes it from here cause that last ep was almost flawless.

+1210Nique Exactly the same. Usually I'm more of a underground guy. I prefer rap with deeper meaning. Usually i don't get very excited about most female performers mostly because they all do kinda the same. As if all have Madonna as their foundation or something... Then came this young lady from the UK, a bit shy and uncertain about if people will like her talent. She came across as humble and honest person. Personality strains that i find respectable. With a completely own interpretation of music and one hell of a voice usually only found in exceptional Opera performers. I really can't name any other artist with such amazing vocability. It blew me away, not just her performance but everything. the live shows, the guys who produce her beats. Everything it's really original and exceptionally well done! Hope she never caves in for easy money and superficial fame. Because it would ruin her legacy. This way she can become larger than life. I think she knows but maybe still a bit doubtful if indeed she is capable of becoming larger than life. People will still listen to her music long after we and she are passed away. If she keeps true to her self I'd hate to call myself a fan, So i won't. Neither am i an "fan" as in screaming and being theatrical. I'd give her a hand and wish her the best with all her plans. let's just say i deeply respect and admire her talent and wish her the best. Go get em Queen Slayage!

@ssstylish3
9 жыл бұрын
Yeah that much is obvious. But you were suggesting that this video is 'meant for the subconscious' and then that some of these things will 'not appeal to the conscious state'. But I don't understand how you discern what parts of it were meant for the subconscious state, and how you'd be able to know if they really did appeal to the subconscious state, because by definition you are unconscious of what is happening in the subconscious state.
@gabechat2
9 жыл бұрын
Tasi Watson Just the parts that seem "unappealing" or intricate. I'll never truly know what parts go underneath the radar, I'm not analyzing and breaking down the video. But I think it's safe to assume you recognize less than several images that make sense in this video and the artist comes off very... avant garde? Can't help but think there's a bigger meaning to the video. She's not just asking "hows that feel" and flashing pretty pictures in our face without any reasoning. (ofcourse I didn't make the video so this is obviously just my opinion). Also, I never said this video is meant for the subconscious nor will the subconsious find it appealing. However, my comment was a general statement. That statement was, "Some things that were meant for the subconscious will not appeal to the conscious state," and honestly aim at comments criticizing how stylized the video is. More basically, 'In my opinion, this video has an underlying message, though it may not be seen or come off aesthetically pleasing.' Understand better you, now?

Mireille Francois maybe reading comments like this is how she's garnering some complexity. Maybe she hasn't had the chance to be exposed to much yet. Someone like myself has (living throughout the US), and someone living in a place like NYC has experienced much more diversity, but some people just haven't had the chance in their location. To her, that could have been a sincere complement because of what she knows thus far or it could have been just simply sarcasm. I will say this. Most of pop culture doesn't bring much emphasis to the artistic and the intelligent sides to black people. More emphasis is brought too the arrogance and ignorance side of black people (they tend to call it "swag"). It is such a shame because there's not really a difference between ethnicities other than what's established by the ethnicity in mention. There's only a difference between the cultural values that the ethnicities gravitate to.

If you listen to commercially popular music then this is very different to what you're used to. If you listen to underground music genres then her music isn't that new or innovative. Echoes of Cocteau Twins/Liz Fraser with Massive Attack, some atmospheric dub step aka Burial style - all have been around a long time! Nothing new if you listen to non mainstream... What's great about FKA twigs is that FINALLY this kind of music is getting more mainstream after years of crass commerical cheese.

Between about 2:30 and 2:50 I am expecting to hear the "m-m-m-m-m-Maybach" music watermark and ruin the song haha. Sounds like its about to start.

Her voice is so angelic- and the music is literally art for my ears, this is truly amazing. It’s very calming but a little sexual at the same time, honestly this has a little bit of everything now that’s what I call music because this is amazing!

I love this girl, I love her music, if it wasnt because of the rumor of her dating Robert Pattinson I wouldnt have know about her beautiful music. I guess that the marketing methods of dating famouse ppl does work to promote new artist. Everyone know who is FKA Twigs now, thanks to Robert Pattinson. Now I get why he and Kristen keep their relationship as a secret.

I have Rob to thank too. I'm in LOVE with her music!!! On another note, as a fan of his I think they make a great couple, he's a great guy and is very soulful himself.

Does anybody have a clue how this video was created? The textures are mesmerizing and I can't begin to ponder how something like this would be made on a computer. Big FKA Twigs fan, but in this case I love Jesse Kanda's work as much as I enjoy the music.

Actually this genre is Electronica with RnB elements. Not like dance music but like Electronica. All the little tickle tacks you hear are for her to dance to. It's the twig sound she dances to. So its like TwigTronica. It's like her own special little RnB Electronica genre thing.
