Glad you kept the Albert pilot as it is common to many of the original scout range.

Lovely project Stuart, you’re very much a man after my own heart. For you it’s Flair, for me Bowman. There’s a great sense of achievement taking a classic old model that’s been loved in the past then neglected; and bringing it back life. My current project, the Bowman 85 inch Miles Magister. The work steps very much mirror your SE5A. Looking forward to seeing flying in part two.

I too like a good restoration. Having done several of both Balsa and Foamies, I agree it does give a lot of satisfaction and in most cases, a lot quicker than a scratch build! Looking forward to seeing the next installment.

Great job Stuart, I really like seeing a restoration project. Looking forward to the next part, setting out fly. It's inspired me to revisit the Flair Cub I learnt to fly with 28 years ago and do an electric conversion on that. A slow flying gentle floater for those balmy summer evenings. Thanks for the inspiration.

Glad to see you again my friend!! Happy your back and had a great trip. This makeover is fantastic!! What a huge difference some work and diligence makes. Love taking something old and making it new again, and the new memories it will make. Can’t wait to see it recovered and flying. Thanks for sharing and hope to see ya soon👊🏼👊🏼

Back in the days I've had their F2b. I've had to decide between F2b and this SE5-A. F2b won :) Lovely, very unusual build - there was no 1:1 scale plan to use. Anyway, it was a very easy build.

Nice progress video. I'm enjoying watching the resurrection of this plane. Regarding painted roundels (or other more complex markings), I found that 3D printing stencils with TPU provides accurate and flexible stencils that can be attached with 3M Repositionable Spray Adhesive. Airbrush only to prevent bleeding. I'm sure you're on top of it so please ignore my comments if they are not helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product take to the air again.

Looking good Stuart. One of the flyers at our club is doing an electric version of one of these and it would be useful if you could let me know after your initial flights how far back from the front of the LE of the top wing the CG ended up and if the motor thrust angles worked out ok without any further adjustment.🤔

Did you chuck those servos out? All you needed to do was replace the servo lead and plugs. I have a video here regarding this. kzitem.info/news/bejne/lqmGy3drcKxqjI4si=Os7TZV7LA2rKnCU9
