Tip I learned, roll your pie crust on parchment paper. Then place pie plate upside down, hold together and flip over and *gently* peel parchment off! Works every time. For larger marble, check Lowes or Home Depot for broken counter tops or large marble tiles. Broken counter tops rejected by customer, if sold by box store, is a fraction of what it costs. Just know they don't cut it to size.

My mom gave me a baker's couche, which is a fancy way of saying a canvas cloth. Makes rolling out pie crust really easy. Can use for shaping baguettes. Now if I could just figure out how to keep the couche from slipping all over the counter!! A marble chess board, at a garage sale?! Like my pie cool! Sweet potato pie is a fave, with pecans on top!

Felicia if you cut the fat in more uniform with no larger than pea size. The texture needs to be like coarse cornmeal. I’ve had great success double sifting for pie crust with the ultra fine baker’s sift.

Hi Felicia, I have never milled grains before. I’m so thankful for all your informative videos. You have helped me get started. My first attempt was with your pie dough recipe. The pie dough tasted delicious, but when I cut into it it fell apart. Like fine soft sand. I used soft white wheat grain and milled it very fine and placed it in the freezer. Took shortening and unsalted butter from the fridge. Mixed Redmond salt to the cold flour and with my kitchen aid’s pastry paddle added the cold butter then the shortening. I did forget to change the attachments and didn’t use the bread making one. The dough didn’t have a lot of butter or shortening pieces that was visible. Could this be the reason the crust didn’t hold?
@GrainsandGrit

Hmm, it's possible it was over mixed. I never let the butter bits gets smaller than a pea. By the way, are you in our elite members group? I troubleshoot with our members. Check it out: bit.ly/3ta2LTc

Thank you!! I have printed out these recipes and I printed out your bread recipe! I have been making a bread but it isn't so great for sandwiches because it crumbles a bit and the sandwiches break. Is that the case for your recipe? Also, can you please make one on home made noodles? Like maybe as a Christmas gifts natural homemade noodles to give to others that are naturally colored green or red
