Waiting on mine to arrive, the release of the open source firmware made it a no brainer for me

I won a 5M this week at a work conference. I'm a total noob to 3D printing, so I have much to learn. The initial setup was fairly easy, although getting the display unit connected and attached was a little tricky. I truly don't now what I'm doing with it, but I did manage to print a guitar pick just for practice and it went well. I really want to learn how to design as well as print things.

Congrats on the new printer! =) Do you know about rooting "full Klipper" the Adv 5M or does it allow for reasonable tweaking in the original firmware? I own a S1 pro as well, so looking forward to your comparison video!

Thank you for your video. I have a ghost 6, but I’m not so happy, so I have to chopse between Adventure 5M, Bambulab A1 (in may) and a K1. I love the A5M but I’m worried by the hotend not colpatibble with oem spare parts. This could be a problem? Thank you

Hard to tell, apologies, is that a gold PEI sheet? Did you get it from FF direct or Amazon?

Got it from Amazon, and yes it came with the gold version. I believe the black one is some sort of buildtak material which is worse.

@@Zeltroix yep, mine just came a day early from Amazon. I couldnt get the start cube to print but I cancelled, updated firmware (which took a long time..), and then printed the benchy with polymaker and it came out killer.

@@JMS7410- Did you modify your temperature while it was warming up? Mine froze but started the printer after like 2-3 minutes, it think that's fixed with the new firmware.

Are you allergic to bambu?

I'm allergic to fires! Hahah just kidding, bambu labs doesn't sell directly to Mexico, you have to go through a reseller so a P1S with AMS combo costs $1600USD + tax here. I'm not willing to pay that amount.

@Zeltroix Hahahah! Wow, I was super durnk last yesterday. Don't even remember posting this. I'm sorry bruh. Embarrassed. I bought a flashforge in 2016. It was rough. lol. 3D printing in general was. so many kinks to be worked out. I'd learned a lot. Learned a bunch of technical stuff.. but ultimately, the pains outweigh'd the benefits and no matter how much my "maker" brain drifted to "Oh man I could design and print a part that solved that problem" I never did cuz there were copious issue with the printer I didnt want to deal with. So 2024, i got a x1c. TBH... Its like a kitchen appliance... it just works. no monitoring, no guessing. But, is Bambu so good? or is it the fact that its 2024, (no longer 2016 lol) and things have advanced. so what I want to know.. the place i have in my heart for flashforge... my original sweetheart.... is it like an appliance? is it press print and forget? Are they all pretty much an appliance at this point? kinks worked worked out? For the price you mentioned, paying homage to my old friend Flashforge, sound pretty great. I

@@PimpinNProgress LOL! No worries, I'd really like a BambuLab but the prices are just unjustifiable here. So far the 5M is ready to print and forget after the initial calibration. I had some print failures but they're user error, mainly for messing with the slicer. I will tell you this though the cooling performance isn't too great since it's missing the aux fan but it prints fast. Putting it up against my S1 thought and honestly they're close. But I've modded that S1 for months.

The FlashForge 5M is $299.00 thats a huge deal for a core XY printer with klipper that's not a bed slinger.

I am, I caught a bad case of the "Bambu Hype" and it cost me $1150. Bought my Bambu on Feb 6th of this year. Feb 17th HMS carriage cant home error....Had to reset printer to factory. March 12th (less than 2 months after purchase) HMS 500.300.2.1 error....Toolhead malfunction, printer is bricked. Contacted Bambu...2 weeks later they tell me to "check the cables and make sure the are plugged in" which they were. Wrote them back in my ticket....Got response back a week later "Sorry we don't know what's wrong with it"........I wrote to them 8 more times and no response. Printer is dead, just flashes the HMS error over and over. Did some research and found out that Bambu printers have roughly a 25% hardware failure rate with my same HMS error and Bambu offers NO resolution. I have even tried to request sending it in (4 times) and still Ghosted.......EVERYONE should be allergic to Bambu junky printers!
