Probably 1978, Jaco is playing with Herbie Hancock in a college auditorium. Power goes out. Herbie is dead in the water with his three keyboards. While they are trying to figure what went wrong Jaco entertains the crowd with unplugged electric bass for 20 minutes. Our minds were blown and it was incredible. His fingers were bleeding because he played so loud. A true legend.

Yes. To be honest it’s not that hard. But to play at the tempo that Jaco played it live, you would want to back off a little to give your fingers the headroom for dynamics, and for more subtlety in the groove.
