This was the reassurance I was looking for that showed me I was doing it correctly. Very informative - Thank you.

I have the same timer and it starts the regen cycle at 2 in the morning. Is there any way to reduce the regen time. What happens is the discharge is in the laundry tub and the water being regen far exceeds the discharge capacity of the tub , thereby dumping water on the floor

Sid yes you can change the duration of a regeneration. Is it for a water softener?

Tell me the current setup. On the back side of the controller on the wheel with metal pins and numbers tell what’s in each section, like there are metal pins from 0-10 then 10-50 is blank then pins from 50-60 etc

@@pvctipsandtricks768 it was from 0 to 12 and then 15 to 30

I wish you could send a picture but it’s probably not regenerating for a long time. You could decrease each section by a third but this could affect the ability to properly regenerate. So make the first section of pins 8 min long then cut the section without pins by a third etc etc so the total length of time decreases to where it doesnt overflow

I added salt pellets, but I don’t know how to update the levels on this type.

I’m not sure what you are trying to do? Can you explain what’s wrong and what you need to do?

PVC Tips and Tricks I’m new to the water softener system. I recently moved in to a new home and after some small research, I realized my container needed salt...since there was way more water than the tiny salt crystals at the bottom. So I went to lowes and got two bags of Morton salt pellets and filled up the container. However, some videos have shown resins that you have to update the salt level you put in, digitally. I’m not sure if there’s a way to do that with the dial versions or if there’s a need to at all.

There is no need to do that with this control head! If it was set up correctly when it was installed, and it works you will be just fine.

PVC Tips and Tricks So far it seems to be working, well, my water feels great that is (: I’ve only added salt pellets and haven’t messed with any of the dials, out of fear of messing anything up. I’ve also tried to move the salt around with a safe stick, to try to prevent any salt “clogs” or “bridges”. I still feel lost to this but getting feedback from you is a relief.

PVC Tips and Tricks Also, the smaller dial is for how many people are within the household right? My number is set to 10 ...but there’s like 1 person mostly (me) and maybe 2 or 3 at most when family visit.

Mine sounds like it wants to regenerate for about 15 sec then stops.

How long has it been since the piston, seals and o-rings have been replaced? The piston may be resting in the wrong position. I would rebuild them.

You just need to pull the metal pin outward so it protrudes out beyond the circumference of the circle on the number wheel for each day you want it to regenerate

@@pvctipsandtricks768 This Fleck water softener has always regenerated on its own automatically but it just recently stopped but it will manually regenerate and everything works fine with the brine and everything. Everything looks fine on the dials and I never touched them
