This is probably the first time I've seen the process of birds hatching and growing up - thank you for setting up LGR birds and the nest cam! What an experience!

I'm gonna miss this little family! My favorite is when the mama covered her babies with her wings and fluffed up as big as she could to protect them from the storm. 🥰

You should put up a bluebird birdhouse with a camera. That would be cool. I have 4 bluebird houses and I love watching them.

Been watching the bird streams here and there and I'm surprised (never watched this much bird content before to know) it just takes them about 3 weeks to leave the nest

Some birds are shorter. Mockingbirds and Brown Thrashers are about 10-13 days. Just had a nest of Mockingbird babies in a bush fledge and it was 11 days from birth. Seems to me birds that build nests outside have to get the heck out quickly while birds that build a nest in a birdhouse can take their time.

Life is perilous for the American robin, and most won’t see their first birthday. As few as 25% of all American robins survive their first year.
