I was there for the race. Got rain shortened about 50-60 laps in. Will never forget the wind blowing off of turn 4 towards the infield, you could actually see the cars for a change. 1989 was the year of the Tobias cars. Look how many where in the lineup.

Stan the man in the Trenton Mack 74 was my fave I remember when he laid it up on the wall in 4. But he had the $ and cents small block I think. Billy the kid Pouch in the Keystone 126. Electrifying Elvin Felty teamed up with Chip Slocum and both Drove for Ray Carrol Chip had the Tornado 96 but he had the 22 blue Small block from S&S Nick & Nick Brett the Jet Hearn in the Ground Round 20, Barefoot Bob McCreedie in the 9 Jumpin Jack Johnson in the 12A Big Tom Hager in the 43 Doug Hoffman 125 with his Girl Groupie camp up in turn 1 lol Ray Bateman the Active 1 R.I.P. The Fireman that got ran over by Ralph Rue by accident in 3&4 R.I.P. and to the years I had from 80 til 93 or 94 when it was last dirt and all the fun I had at every piece of that place. We did our best exploring during every late model show EVER CAUSE BACK THEN LATE MODLES SUCKED ASS! LOL AND TO HARRY DEE THE GREATEST FLAG MAN A DIRT TRACK HAS EVER SEEN IN THE SHORT SHOOT OR CHUTE! EITHER WAY IT MADE FLEMINGTON SOMETHING IVE NEVER FOUND IN ANY TRACK FROM VELOUSI IN FLORIDA TO SKAGIT SPEEDWAY IN WASHINGTON ST! FLEMINGTON HOLDS IT DOWN AS THE GREATEST DIRT TRACK RACING EVERY WEEK FOR 14 YEARS IN A ROW! WHAT A DAMN SHAME ITS GONE BUT THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I REMEMBER THIS AND MANY MORE!

Think 1989 was the last year for the dirt at Flemington, it was paved with asphalt during the off season for the 1990 racing program.

1990 was the last year on dirt. I went to both days. Saw Pauch dominate the 410 sprints in the 126 and was reeling in Hearn in the 100 lap small block race. Ran out of time. I went down to turn 4 and dug up some dirt, which I still have because I knew the Sunday 200 race I'd be a basket case. I haven't been back to the town of Flemington ever since.
