Your new shop is really coming together nicely Adam. I've enjoyed watching your channel for years now. I hate to see the negative comments from those who didn't go out and make it happen like you have. Adam, you should _strongly_ consider installing your airline around your shop to make a connected "loop." That will improve your overall airflow to everywhere in your shop. We did that in several Shops at work and it really helped. (Putting on the "OSHA hat" I earned during my ~38-year career while implementing what our Safety Office [equal to OSHA] recommended/required), you might also want to install a second 30-psig loop for blowing off chips _and_ yourself since the full 100 to 120-ish psig can both damage your machines (blow chips under the wipers, etc.) and if you aren't already using "safety" nozzles, you could accidentally (worst case?) blow air right through your skin and put air bubbles into your bloodstream, which I was told can easily be fatal. I also discovered a safety air nozzle that not only blows as much as a regular nozzle, but cuts the noise level down by ~half, i.e., below where OSHA requires hearing protection. I'm not connected to them in any way, but their product solved a _big_ noise problem I had with one of the Shops I supported before retirement -- Exair's "Super Air Nozzle™" worked wonders for the Shop _and_ made life there and in the surrounding Shops & areas _much_ better without mandatory wearing of (double) hearing protection _all_ day.

I go to a lot of auctions, and I have to say that the part I enjoy most is to be able to see some of these old shops just to see what equipment the pros are using, and how they have their production systems laid out. Some complain about "unboxing videos," but anyone new to shopbuilding should get an idea of what is involved, be it old equipment or (mostly) new. Machines are pretty easy compared to tooling them up. An idea for a contest: First paying machine job, how many times you will need to make something, and/or stop and go fetch something from the home shop in order to complete the work. I found that to be the most frustrating part. Planning out the work and discovering just how much you don't have, and really need. A list so long, you are not sure where to start. If you have to make something, by the time you're done you've nearly forgotten what motivated you to make it.

Following up on the content of this video, people should realize that even though the USA and Canada doesn’t have half the heavy industry used for making our consumer goods, we do have the finest industrial tool manufacturing in the world, and it is infinitely scalable in a pinch. When Adam buys American-made tools like this, he is buying tools that basically last forever, have high versatility, and are modifiable. With the deepening “crisis,” a lot of people think it’s going to be a catastrophe due to our lack of manufacturing capacity. I don’t really agree from a long-term perspective. I would consider mounting a floatlock vise on that work table. Wahlstrom makes em and Penn Tool Co sells them.

Is there an option to get a table drilled, but not tapped? If so, you can practice using the Flexarm about 200 times before trying it on a real job.

Seems like everyday is Christmas for the Abom79. You need some signature parts to make and sell like fireball or Jimmy Diresta. I'd buy such. Like a cool thing to have and to hold.

I'm kind of surprised the mounting arm doesn't lock in place with a heavy duty adjustable handle. I don't think anyone would care about it costing a few dollars more, if it means they don't have to go looking for a wrench, or keep a dedicated one on the cart.

Love the Flag but may I suggest that you change from a vertical mount to a high horizontal mount. By changing it to high horizontal it will no longer be touching the floor and as you are a machine shop it won't be prone to getting dirty. Hang it high to protect it and to show due respect of our flag. Dave USN Retired

Yes, I can't stand the flag hanging down, it should be horizontal up high out of the dirt.
