I needed to see this! I go to training next month and I know for SURE that I’ll have to commute. There are no domiciles near me for any airline really, but this is my dream. I have a whole family, and we are not relocating. Everyone is so anti commuting and it’s making me anxious. Praying I can make this work.

Wishing you all the best! Commuting is very doable. It will just require some sacrifice (like cutting down your off days to fly in etc). Go after your dream!

Do they know if you don't relocate even though we just tell then sure no problem? Lol

@@yu_love_sum_dee They may know depending on your home address/if you get a parking pass at another base etc. It's not prohibited but 'discouraged'

Awesome video!! New FA in training here. Question.. is it better to non-rev/commute in uniform? I hear that’s the only way you can bring on more liquids or something but I could be totally wrong!! Lol

Hi! I'm sure you got an answer by now, but yes, you have to be in uniform to be able to carry more liquids (if going through regular security). I also always commute in uniform, just so other crew and gate agents can recognize (and I just don't care for airport bathrooms lol)

Heyy thanks for the video I’m currently based in ord with a private room but I’ve been thinking about commuting from Philly because that’s where my family is but I was hesitant about commuting in and out of ord in the winter. What was your experience as a commuter into ord?
@VBabyTakes
Жыл бұрын
Hiii! Pleaseee DM me if you have Instagram @its.vbabyy I honestly, transferred out of ORD right when winter started (many people do). If you are willing to fly in the night before and keep your private room that's an option. I just know how bad weather can get over there and I don't think its worth the stress if you can help it.

Hey! I love your videos! I had a quick question, do you know if United is opening their applications again anytime this year? For non LOD positions?

Hey Saveon, thank you so much! I know they recently did an opening through referrals only. They are still looking to hire several more FAs into the new year

@@VBabyTakes of course! I remember that, I could have sworn I applied but I never heard anything back and it isn’t showing on my job site. I’ll probably just have to catch the next round! How are you liking it so far though?! I’ve been getting so many different opinions!

@@TheeKZiteme the job is really what you make it and each person has their own experience. If you commute it’ll be different than living in base. Different bases have different flying. DM me about my experience🤣

Can a flight attendant commute internationally, for example if I live in Managua, Nicaragua, and I am based in Miami, should I be able to commute? The airline has three daily flights from Managua to Miami. Thanks
@VBabyTakes
Жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm sure you got an answer by now, but I have heard several flight attendants who commute internationally. It just depends on the airline you work for and how you are able to maneuver your work schedule. Some people I know stack their flying for 2 weeks then spend the other 2 weeks at home.
