Compared to the Apple vision pro also known as Iscam I would rather get this as an aviation NERD

I just received a Pimax Crystal a few days ago. Combined with my i9 13900k, RTX 4090, PimaxXR, OpenXR toolkit with dynamic foveated rendering enabled, and MSFS settings at Ultra with DLSS enabled (I used settings shown in tallymouse videos for my settings), MSFS runs smoothly and looks photorealistic, it's like being in an actual airplane. The clarity of this headset is nuts. Yes it has a relatively high price tag, but there's no other consumer headset out right now with this level of clarity and with such a large vertical fov, it really is mind blowing. This finally gets me to the level of clarity in VR flight simming that I've been trying to get to for like 5 years now. At first I thought it was my GPU holding me back, but after finally getting an RTX 4090 I then realized at that point that it was my Reverb G2 headset also holding me back. The Pimax Crystal blows the Reverb G2 completely out of the water in terms of clarity, color reproduction, brightness, and black levels.

Nice screens, but the headset as a whole is just too big/heavy/uncomfortable for me to move away from my current setup. I do although live in hope for the future:-).

Personally I’ve found it to be quite comfortable and not so bad, but that’s because I was expecting it to be really heavy at first from what I heard online. That being said, it’s definitely not something I could keep on for hours straight. And yes, VR has so much space to develop and it’s exciting to see what the future will hold :)

I just purchased the Crystal and have got it working in MSFS202 but X Plane does not recognize it. Any thoughts as to why?

I recently installed it and X Plane will run however it does not run smoothly; not sure why. I haven't taken the time to troubleshoot it.@@LuxPlanes

@@LuxPlanesquest 2 is just as great, problem is… you need a good pc, like a really good one for msfs and possible X-Plane 12, but X-Plane 11 should work with less fps prob

Step 1: spend 2000 euros on a VR headset Step 2: spend another 3 grand for pc parts so my pc doesn’t spontaneously combusts. Step 3: figure out how to fully start a plane Step 4: study a couple more things so I know how to be progamerpilot9000 Step5: play

To be fair haha I did have to actually upgrade my PC for around 3000 euro to use this VR. So if one can’t afford it I don’t think it should be a priority, but if you have some extra money and it’s something you would love then it might be worth jt :)
