Nice demo. If I understand this correctly, you did need access to inside the building to capture the signal when pressing the handicap button, and then you replayed the captured signal from outside the building to open it. Is that right?

Yes, I was inside the building when I captured the signal. You'd have a hard time capturing these old Megacode signals through a few block walls, but you could get lucky standing outside. The newer style wireless transmitters go through block walls with ease, though. Wireless accessibility buttons are becoming more and more prevalent so I enjoy covering them.

I’m sure anyone in the US would get ‘this is restricted from your region’ when trying to send it, unless you removed the restriction and are now doing two illegal things. Transmitting that frequency and gaining access to a building you don’t have key for. First one is a ride with the FAA you don’t want to be on.

To be fair, I'm sure most people that would be replaying it don't care about legality

Excellent video. Quick question: when I am in fixed scan, and I hit a transmitter, the transmitter information does not come up for me. Just shows a signal bar. How do I get the transmitter information to come up after the signal is sent?

Most doors use Hi-o components that generates a new code every use. This is only possible in poor and non secure places.

I only know of one manufacturer - BEA - that makes wireless door controls that have rolling codes implemented.

I dyed them, I do not recommend it, they warp and wear through really easily

Remember it's illegal to hack with out permission

This isn't hacking, this is just harvesting an unsecured code over the air. e.x. this wouldn't work for a car fob.

@@Name-ot3xwin US it’s illegal to even transmit on that 318mHz band without an approved commercial device.
