@Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj It is so sad that people continue to say she was using steroids or other drugs. She took 10 random drug screens during the '88 Olympics and tested negative for any illegal substances every time and her blood toxicology tested negative for any drugs other than Tylenol and Benadryl upon her death in 1998 and she had dabbled with getting back into Olympic training but was injured before the '96 Olympics. People also criticized her for her style and fashion sense. She was a beautiful person and very talented, it is sad that people who are not as sure of themselves as she was try to bring her down! She did go on a hiatus from track after her silver in 84 but returned in 88 and was more muscular and in particularly, faster than anyone *in history*. Then she retired at the ripe age of 29, at her "athletic peak" and probably as one of the most popular athletes at the time, to pursue other endeavors, brought on by the attention garnered by her brief but remarkable success on the track. Makes me wonder if she was doping and got out before the implementation of stricter drug testing months later after the Olympics in Seoul (88 saw multiple athletes being busted for ped use)

"That black magic". So now Flo Jo's doping is being made into a racial thing, LOL! Pathetic. Flo Jo was the most doped athlete in history in 1988, race has nothing to do with it, and she denied other BLACK athletes their moments of glory like Ashford and Grace Jackson. Now yes the GDR had a bunch of mostly white sprinters doped systematically through the government, and was also deprived by another black doper Brisco Hooks in 84, so Flo Jo decided to take it one step further and take so many horse pills they killed her by 40. +Stephanie Crock "Florence" means "flower", so she was created to be admired for her inner and outer beauty to reflect her heavenly Father's glory. #jobwelldone JESUS: “You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (Matthew 5:13-16 NLT) JESUS: “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last-dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip. “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money. “After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’ “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together! ’ “The servant who had received the two bags of silver came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of silver to invest, and I have earned two more.’ “The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ “Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’ “But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I could have gotten some interest on it.’ “Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Matthew 25:14-30 NLT) Romans 14:4 NLT Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive His approval. Galatians 6:4 NLT Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. Galatians 5:24-26 NLT Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

Sha'carri Richardson, I hope you watch this and as many Florence Griffith Joyner interviews as you possibly can following that loss to Thompson Herah and Frazier Price (and the rest of the field). Flo Jo was pure class, hard work, and grace. Some people are "hating", but others know you can be the best with each of those ingredients and we want better for you.

I never believed she took drugs either but that wind-aided 100m race at '88 trials should have been called such in the records. I believe Flo Jo actually ran in the low to mid 10.60s. Her world record with the 200m might have been the same circumstance. She is unforgettable and forever beautiful either way.

Damn, her sentence flow broke when she said "never taken drugs". Plus the way she formed the sentence....."I knew I had never taken drugs". It's this type of subconscious slip, AKA a Freudian Slip, that you look for to discern if someone is lying or not. In other words, though she didn't take PEDs when she initially started running track, she's attempting to subconsciously resolve her reasons for taking PEDs in her latter years of track. Kinda like, hey I'm not a bad person. It's not like I have a history of doing bad things, so this one time is excusable.

Her voice higher than in 88 at trials and seoul.. noticeably.. Why couldn't she train? She had much more money and time after Seoul than before. And she had said she really wanted that 400 WR.. and felt like she could go faster in 100. Idk. Her mother always said people will always talk about you.. shallow .to a legitimate question ....But know one really knows..

Everyone who knows track & Field knows Flo Jos record should NOT stand especially bc there was atleast a 5 Meter wind on the day! That's illegal! This is a 2nd round race in the US nationals!!! Two ladies who previous ran over 11 seconds also ran 10.8 with that wind pushing them down the track! I don't even want to talk about 1988 what was happening with some of these athletes being caught on the juice!! This record is wrong for soooo many reasons. People need to do their research!!

I cannot judge the situation when information weren’t given about her health care. There are articles that incited doubt. The sudden shift in her speed ? Marion Jones said she didn’t do drugs and later admitted. She could have ran excellent without drugs… Athletes should set their own goals not just beating Flo Jo’s record
