The second kind shown, really shines with a small splitshot about 6-12” in front of it. Ends up behaving more like the first type shown. I was using it last weekend and caught a 6.05lb PB. Fished a bank right behind two other bass boats that were beating it with moving baits. I scooted over in my kayak and just worked the area slow.

That is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing that. Looks like you have 2021 off to a pretty good start! Congrats.
That is a Gambler Floating Worm, I have a couple of bags left. Had them for about 25 years or so. They are the true by definition Floating Worm

Another video right on point Steve, thanks! My floating worm game jumped to another level once I started using the barrel swivel. I keep this rig tied on year round with my best success using Magnum sized trick style worms On a spinning combo. Nothing less than 7", and often vibrant colors. They seem to take water clarity out of the equation. Also, I find the bigger worms skip beautifully, and improve my accuracy. Another great subject covered. Always look forward to your videos. So much to learn

Thank you. I have used 20 pound braid on all my reels with a 24 pound fluoro leader. I see that you and all the other pro's use a light leader. I am very scared it will brake. I use the gt knot to tie the braid and fluoro but will use yours for sure. Thank you for the quick response.

Steve, can you advise us on using braid. I started using braid on spinning combos and now i use it even on my casting rods. I am just not sure if it is always the best option. Should my leader be stronger or weaker strenght than the braid. Thanks again for awesome tips. Tight lines!

I have braid spooled up on 90% of my reels, both casting and spinning. I do use a leader on them most of the time because I fish a lot of clear water. I use the Red Phillips knot to go from the braid to fluoro leader. My leader is usually less pound test than the mainline. For example, on my casting rods I have 50lb braid mainline and then often use a 10 or 12lb fluoro leader. The spinning rods is usually a 6-10lb fluoro leader and a 20lb braid mainline. The only time I go straight braid to the lure is when the water is really dirty. The reels I have no braid on and use straight fluoro are my crankbait and jerkbait rods. I really like the braid because it casts so easy and I can swap out the pound test leader real quick instead of respooling. Here is the video on the Red Phillips knot: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xoOksG2AmGJ_mY4
