Cory if you ever have water on carpet again after vacuuming get rubbing alcohol and spray it on the wet carpet it will dry in 1\2 the time. I used to a quick dry carpet cleaning company and the isopropyl alcohol was how we dried it fast.

You probably already have your shipping nailed down but just in case. I work for the us post office. If those FX4’s fit in a flat rate box that is your best option, even if you have to use the next size up box. I hope your holidays went well. I am just getting back into the hobby and I am gathering my equipment. My plan is to be set up around New Years.

Many years ago my then six-year-old daughter decided to do a handstand in our living room in front of our five-gallon fish tank. It almost goes without saying that she failed and put her foot thru the glass on that tank! Only five gallons, but it's a phenomenal amount of water on our carpet. The water even drained thru into the basement! We were in the midst of selling our house at the time. Fortunately, my daughter was not injured. It was a traumatic experience tho, and I learned later she hid under her school desk that day! I had already called to alert them to what had happened just in case she was upset by it.

hey Cory don't know how this will work with air line tubing and check valves but I'm a plumber in the UK and what I would do (if it worked) tee off the auto doser line with a tee and run air line up towards the ceiling about 6 inches and then put a check valve on the end of that so that if a syphon happened it could suck air in to break the syphon but fertz couldn't be pumped out. hope this makes sense and hope it works. love the vids btw keep it up!

man....comment all typed out and lost it. So, instead of hanging the air line above the water in the filter, you can try drilling a hole in the plastic tank trim. Then "thread" the airline through the hole and us a plastic elbow or any other connection to prevent the airline from pulling back through. Should keep the air gap in place and hold the line in place.
@AquariumCoop
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, just not trying to drill the trims, I used to just run them through the plastic back strips, but I deleted the use of those.
@RichsFishes

why are you opposed to drilling the trim?

yeah? maybe we're not talking about the same idea....I cant see how it would weaken it. I drilled three holes in the trim on one of my tanks....2 for float switches and one for airline tubing. So far so good!

At my job we had a leak from the pipe that feeds our aquariums it began leaking when everyone was on lunch. Oh boy was probably about 30 gallons but since its tiled floor it was ALL over the place. Cleaning it up was a pain specially since access to under the side counters is restricted. Glad your wasn't worse then it was and that you had a game plan in place to get it handled. Would be good if you haven't already to go over that part with your employee's since I know you got new staff. Even if it's your fault it shows that you can make mistakes to but got to make sure nobody else makes the same mistake. I'm sure you did though. =)

I have a flame tail cherry red ngara that was holding for two days, and then I cleaned the glass on the front of the tank. When I went to feed the fish later that night she wasn't holding anymore. Do you think I spooked her while cleaning the glass? I'm new to fish breeding so I'm not entirely sure what I should do to ensure that a "miscarriage", if you will, doesn't happen again.
@AquariumCoop

If they're stressed they can swallow the eggs. They can also move them to the rear buccal cavity, which makes it seem like they aren't holding as well. If she is eating then you know the eggs are gone.

@theodoreso-hwan8957
7 жыл бұрын
Your tank is overstocked, I know they are small but still, the 1" of fish per 1 gallon rule is almost always wrong. You shouldn't have that much fish in that amount of gallons. See if you can maybe get a few of those fish a new home, change the water, and maybe try to not feed to much at 1 time.
@AquariumCoop
7 жыл бұрын
+LOLWUT? I don't Agree. Easy situation is different. I can keep 100 tetras in 10 gallons of water without problems. Currently his tank is unbalanced, maybe he can keep fewer guppies to solve it. Or perhaps add more plants. Or a better light to make plants grow faster. Could also upgrade the quality of food etc. But to simply say lowering g the stock level isn't offering very good advice in my opinion
