Would you use that type of sander in a small powder room like 3ft X 9ft or just an edge sander for the whole thing?

The slight angle on boards will also prevent enhancing the butt joint when the rubber drum hits it at 90*, regardless if it is level or not!

When sanding aluminum oxide What is the best grit to start with, as well as mineral type?
@CityFloorSupplyLLC
5 жыл бұрын
Rebbeca - We have found that a 40 or 50 grit works well. Seems like Blaze from Norton handles the aluminum oxide finish. Remember you are essentially sanding sandpaper.

try using a top quality sander like a Hummel that has a pressure adjustment. Way better than a Clarke

Honestly I agree, I've yet to see a floor crafter with my own two eyes that wasn't an honest to god piece of shit. love the hummels and how practical they are but sometimes I find myself wishing it was more powerful. best drum through and through once the finish is off hands down

I use a floorcrafter and I think it’s ok. It has plenty of power. I live in east bumfuck Montana and it’s by far the best machine these hillbillies have ever seen. All the floors out here are 100 year old maple and oak. Takes a lot of power to cut them clean.

yea I do alot of work in the sticks outta michigan, im sure nice floorcrafters exist, I've yet to see one that didn't chatter like crazy. I'm more of a galaxy guy myself

My floorcrafter is from 2015. It doesn’t chatter but it does leave the really slight waves in the floor like everyone complains about. It’s pretty slight, can’t feel it but with the right natural light down a hallway, I can see them. Customers don’t notice though. Clark even mentioned in the instructions manual that this happens and they have no idea why. I wish I had bought a galaxy, but for $5100, the crafter was a pretty fair deal. Most of my floor jobs are in brutal condition so.. works for my bottom of the barrel work.

@@krakenwoodfloorservicemcma5975 hey I aint knockin it, I sure you do good work, an 1500 bucks is good deal even if it aint perfect. My dad got a brand new floor crafter in 2018 it chattered, left really deep snakes along the edge, wouldn't track right and would just throw belts, he thought it was him for the first 2 months and kept adjusting it. Eventually he took it in and somebody put the wrong roller assembly in it, like the entire assembly, the upper roller, the drum head, the tensioner were all wrong and they didn't give him a refund. They sure took that machine back though. He got a galaxy after that and doesn't regret it lmao.

Rebecca, Hard Plating is a technique that refers to buffing a floor with sandpaper bolted to a block that is aluminum backed (hardplate) and typically felt faced.

You just made yourself look kinda dumb because that "guy" is Lenny Hall, one of the most award winning wood floor artists in the world. If you were in the flooring industry you would already know that though so I guess you just trolling videos for fun. Thanks for giving me my laugh for the night haha
