I enjoyed the glazing test! It was a nice reminder that not all paints/paper glaze in a hot mess (like I usually get when I try) XD

The trick to glazing is your paper needs to be completely dry between layers...I drive my studio mates crazy by getting up and going for so many walks while I work 🤣

I love her books too. I signed up to her video courses last week, took advantage of the sale she has on. The few tutorials I have seen she does talk about composition a little bit. I like some of the techniques that she uses but there are some I dont like. I think studying another artist is a great way of learning, they may have come across a tip or technique that you havent thought of.

Thank you for this useful and interesting video. The glazing tests were insightful. I'm now also curious about the thumbnails! I assumed they wee mockups for the book, not her actual thumbnails. I look forward to the next video where you paint using her techniques. Happy holidays to you!

She uses colour differently than, say, someone like Steve Quiller obviously, but she may be just as skillful perhaps? I really liked thumbing thru her fruits and veggies book when I borrowed it. I may have to go and get it out again.

I’d prefer to see a leafy green botanical background.

Enjoyable video, made even more enjoyable by the presence of a (very juicy) cat. Cat footage = more views, 'cause cats rule.
