As of November 2020, it looks as though Nucor ceased to operate out of Pompano Beach. Half of this video's operations no longer apply today, so we have a little history on our hands here.

There is a spur heading in the southwest direction leading from the CSX tracks at the Ft. Lauderdale station. I followed the spur to a dead end and there was a tanker car parked there with weeds overgrown around it. The facility it serves manufactures cooking oil. An employee said the train comes at night about once a month. Can you get that footage?" Also I thought Amtrak ran on CSX tracks.

Fantastic Video... I am working on a track plan of the Pompano industrial area west of 95. This really helped with the industries over there.... how far north does 960 go or what would be its Northern most industry? all the best, John

Thanks! I can email you a copy of the plan as I get closer to completing it. I’d love to get your input on some of the inbound and outbound cars. I work out of Boca Airport so may try to drive down to catch it one day.

I think I've figured it all out after watching it again a few times. Think the covered hoppers that had been behind the cars from Nucor were dragged out from Quicklime to make way for the inbound cars and then they tacked the inbounds onto the rear and shoved it all back down. Then I think the two outbound cars from Matco were with those other hoppers that they tacked the Matco inbounds onto the back with. Then of course the car behind engine 434 was the one for ISOFlex. Hope I got it all right!
@TolgaEastCoast

That sounds about right Joe. The inbounds were put behind the cars already sitting there. That allows the others which may be emptied sooner to be pulled faster once the RR is ready for them. The pellet hopper did stay behind 434 at all times.

Yo man you need to come over to City point here in Cocoa. The Rock train leave Cmex plant and head south to Miami every weekday at 11:00 p.m. at night. And it's all lit up when it heads under 528 a beautiful shot for you. And if you're really feeling up to it I got a secret spot to watch the train let's just say he would be taking the left to go to NASA's where we would be just Google Jay Jay road on the FEC main line. FYI at citypoint most of the trains run at night time starting at 4pm when. And then at 7:00 in the morning till about 10:00 a.m. you got the Jacksonville local that comes to Titusville every day to pick up freight and drop off empties and we'll stop in New Smyrna Beach and drop off rocks and pick up freight ect and you name it. I hope this info I gave you gives you some good ideas to expand your awesome video making of the FEC trains.

What does the dispatcher mean when the downtown job goes to CIS to run around the train. Where is the CIS spur in Miami?
@TolgaEastCoast
4 жыл бұрын
Lee Powers the CIS "spur" or siding I suppose is just east of Iris interlocking and has the switches to the three industrial spurs in the CIS.
