I’ve lived in Florida my whole life (22 years) and have been fishing almost all those years. I don’t think most people understand that without the proper knowledge of the area and actively trying to contribute to make it better, our ecosystem will only suffer and it is up to the people on the water to spread the right info and try to make strides towards change as a collective like this video suggested. Being a good angler is about being grateful for your home and the species that call it home too.

Your videos never disappoint either. I’m still waiting on my first snook though. (South Texas) Only seen one (roughly 32”) in the wild last winter where I fish when I was netting crabs. If I had my lure rod on me right then I would have had a good shot at catching it too.

The only time I throw chunk bait is in winter when the fish stack up in creeks. Mostly redfish but with some black drum mixed in. I throw lures only for slot fish the rest of the year. I also throw 12” mullet for sharks and trophy redfish at night except winter time.

Hey Clint, I just started targeting reds and I’m having a lot of success catching small ones, up to 22” using small jigs and shrimp. Do you think if I soaked some big chunk bait I can catch a bigger red or do you think I’m just in with the puppy reds and need to move to find bigger fish? Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼
@clintklare7747
9 ай бұрын
@@bigfishlilfish2 hey buddy, I would definitely try cut bait if you can’t get some big live baits to use for targeting bigger redfish. Blue crabs and mullet are my go to for targeting the big boys. You can fish piers, jetties, surf, oyster reefs, and grass flats if they are easily accessible. The big bull reds are everywhere, if you are somewhere here on the Texas coast you can find some with big baits. If you don’t have luck where you typically fish with big baits, I would move around and try something different.

@AbenzFishing
9 ай бұрын
I lived there for 22 years and here for 5, I’d say the average size of the fish around here is larger but the volume is greater there. In general, the fish are more easy to find in east coast, not as vast, that probably creates the illusion that they’re always bigger. The big girls on the west coast are smarter and have more places to go.

@@warlordop713 I lived in MA for 5 years and fished Connecticut and the NE the whole time.
