Fifty years ago, I and several of my family members would charter a fishing boat out of Ponce inlet. On a good day we would fish 30 miles offshore. Our best memories were catch of a large dolphin sold to a local restaurant; a huge haul of grouper that fed our entire motel, and flying fish that we had never seen before. The local area has really changed in those years that followed. Keep the videos coming as they help to stoke my memories.

I'm just now watching. It's so sobering to see the boats built from a people so desperate to escape tyranny. We as Americans could never possibly understand what they suffered. Let's hope we don't end up there. Great video. Thank you ❤😊

Fun tip. A quick feet dip in the water? Keep a small container of plain cornstarch in your bag. Shake off water and sprinkle cornstarch. Dry and sand free feet!

We have so many visitors that have never been to an ocean beach. They don’t understand rip tides or undercurrents. They drink a lot on vacation. They swim without lifeguards present. They go out too far. They don’t get the power of the waves. Sharks are an absolute issue over which we have little control. Fortunately most shark attacks don’t result in a death. Every death is a tragedy but most are caused by humans not following safe practices and not the fault of the beach. Been in Florida for 70 years. Wonderful place to live. You have to notice we are really low in the death by freezing or falling while mountain climbing for similar reasons.

Love your videos. We really enjoy learning the new things that you help us discover. In Florida, we were at Ponce they had a flag that was flying it was torn and I advised them as a disabled veteran, They needed to remove that flag and have it properly disposedbefore we left the grounds after touring. The lighthouse and all of its buildings and watching the videosthey brought me that flag and I directed them how to properly fold an American flag.we then bought a hat pin at the gift shop. Pinned it to that flag and have it folded up in our living room. keep up the good work we really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.

You can always say New Smarna Beach. When I went to Pensacola lighthouse in January, I forgot my inhaler at my air bnb and I really got out of breath and had to take breaks. But, to make it worse, there is no railing at all so really makes you nervous. I stood as close to the wall as possible. Never again will I go to one without a railing.

I think the waves which got your feet into the sand like a whirlpool made me feel crazy and scary to swim! The waves were higher than my height as I walked through up to my thigh and it was my last step in the water when a huge wave rose well above my head and overwhelmed my breath for a while as I swallowed the water. This was an experience enough for me to to understand how deadly the beach was. Thank to God I did not come across any shark at the same time.

Now I am familiar with the beach all the way down to Flagler Avenue. The beach was so scary. I was not able to swim but just walked through the high waves up to my thigh. I sensed a whirlpool moving me inside the sand. It is not easy to swim in the ocean unlike the sea. To tell you the truth I enjoy swimming in Turkey. It is definitely more safe and relaxing in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.

Freedom which is what every refugee is seeking often ends up at the expense of their lives for those who are trying to flee sailing overseas. I can not imagine the deadly disaster how those Cubans had drowned in the ocean when their rafts were washed off by the huge waves.
