Lovely FLosstube. Great job. If that piece of stitched linen was stitched by my grandmother and myself, I’d finish stitching my portion and then add a beautiful fringe all along edge and keep it and wear as a shawl for special occasion so you always can wear and remember your grandmother. Beautiful stitching.

I really enjoyed your flosstube. It was so interesting to see and hear about your traditional Ukrainian stitching. It’s is absolutely beautiful. The piece you did with your grandmother is very special. I would finish your part. Leave your childhood stitches as these are a reminder of you as a little girl. It’s very special. I think I would frame it as an heirloom piece. I loved your shirts, they are stunning. And also enjoyed learning about the special towels. The small pieces you stitched with the Dream plane and the yellow and blue one with the bird were stunning. Small pieces that say so much. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Well done on your first flosstube.

I loved seeing all your cross stitch and embroidery. The traditional stitching from Ukraine and the awesome wooden map with all the territories. I will love to see when you do some of the territories stitched. You did a wonderful job on the video, I have subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your stitching.

Keep the piece as is. Maybe a daughter or granddaughter could work on it. Make it a family piece.😊

Lovely first flosstube! I, too, learned to cross stitch from my grandmother and mother (over 60 years ago!) They immigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine (Volyn region) after World War II. One artifact that I still have is the рушник (towel) my grandmother stitched as a young girl. Its framed and proudly displayed in my home. Perhaps you could finish your piece and display it as a table runner. It would be a lovely tribute to the special time you had with your grandmother . 🇺🇦Слава Украіні

Great video! You showed so many lovely pieces showing your beautiful culture. I loved the wooden map that you stitch different patterns for each district. That’s so cool. Regarding your grandmother’s piece, the story behind it is so sweet I think you should leave it as is because it has your first stitches that yiu shared with your grandmother. Look forward to your next video!

Great first Flosstube video! What a beautiful memory of your grandmother teaching you to cross stitch. I would also complete your side and either do the table runner or a pillow. Such exquisite stitching. Also loved the horses.

I loved loved loved your first Flosstube and I am looking forward to the next one!! Thank you very much for sharing so much of Ukrainian culture with us - all of those designs are gorgeous. Ukraine has such a rich embroidery tradition! Sarah, the Stitchin' Mommy, will be delighted that you are doing her Temperature Butterflies and I think the black that you used is the perfect choice for that day, not only for Ukrainians but also for those of us who are outraged by what is happening to your country. I also have cats, and no cross stitch is complete without a few cat hairs woven in.

Thank you so much for those words! It's a heartbreaking experience and I'm still looking for ways to live with it. Stitching helps a lot. Say hi to your cats from me 😉

Hi SO lovely to watch this. I love textiles, I do cross but overriding passion is world textiles. I have a collection and of course when I saw the first book you showed, I immediately wanted it. I think I can see it as a digital download on etsy but I would like a paper version. I have a collection of textiles from Latin America (I am from Peru) and I am in the process of making myself a version of a tradition mexican blouse so it is great to come across someone else doing a similar things. I hope you come back. I have followed some of the instagrammers you mentioned. I love the colours they use in their designs. Anyway. Hope you have a lovely week and thanks for this episode. Catherine

And for your grandma's piece. I think there is something beautiful about your half completed piece. I would like to have it near and possibly use it. A project bag for something really special. And that would mean that you don't have to cut it or damage it. You can keep it safe in a drawer. I definitely prefer textiles to not be behind glass, although I do have some from China that I framed in glass but I wouldn't do that now. Have a lovely day, Catherine

Thank you! Oh, that's amazing that you are doing Mexican traditional blouse. I see pictures of them online - they are so beautiful! Very similar to Ukrainian stitching sometimes. Good luck, and please share your progress if you can. I mentioned my Instagram under the flusstube #2. As for the book, I highly recommend it as there are soo many nice patens there that you can cross-stitch and not only. There may be some Ukrainian online stores that can deliver it oversees.
