Beautiful finishes. I understand why you want to backstitch, it makes it more awesome. It is my favorite. But the lilacs from manning is as well a beautiful piece. Happy stitching!

Love the variety of projects you are working on. I believe I owned that ginger and space pattern back in the day but gave it away without stitching when I stopped stitching for about fifteen years. It’s wonderful to see it come to life. happy stitching.

I watched part of your video the first day you posted but just now finished watching the rest. Thanks for explaining your Stitch Brat handle. Very clever. You didn’t mention the “stew” part. I’m guessing it’s because of the variety of things you stitch. I’m interested in the Dear Jane aspect of Carol Manning’s design since I’m a quilter. If I did one it would be the closest I’ll ever come to actually doing a Dear Jane quilt. I am going to look into it. Haul sounds to me like a heavy burden one is carrying around. Jane and Julie of Running with Scissors with Jane and Julie call it Delightful Deliveries. My tiny topic suggestion is back stitching. I only started cross stitching in 2020. The patterns I stitch are newer so don’t have back stitching. However, I started a fancy lady last week from Bella Filipina that has crucial back stitching around the face and arms. I don’t understand how long the stitches should be. I really don’t know what I’m doing.

Hi Ann! Yes the “stew” is because of the variety of my stitching and also good alliteration!! Lol! Thanks for the topic suggestion, I’ll make note of it. You’re right that BS can make it break a piece sometimes and it isn’t always clear how to do it. I love Jane and Julie, somehow forgot what they call haul!!

Your second video did not fail my expectations. I’m glad you explained your IG handle and FT name-I wondered about both. When I set up my IG account, I guess I fat fingered, so I have an ‘x’ at the end of my handle. I also haven’t stitched any of Karen Kluba’s charts, but I’ve had one kitted for years and I have ‘Tisket a Tasket’ ready to go too. I’m glad you explained how you use walnut crystals, as I’ve had a bottle for quite a while. And now I will be better about taking the time to like videos (which I don’t do a lot b/c I mostly watch on TV). I’m already looking forward to your next video.

Greetings from another Barb! I too am a fan of Carolyn Manning AND Jacob de Graaf. Jacob's Yule Cat is waiting in the wings, but I just started CM's Sunflower Symphony. Your Ink Circles piece is going to be spectacular. I absolutely love the floss you selected, and the black fabric is perfect. I have to admit I was relieved when you said it's aida. I may be able to face black aida one day -- my only experience with dark fabric was a navy blue Lugana, 1 over 2 on 28, but the floss was an overdyed cool gray. High contrast preserved my sanity. Coincidentally, that one was also from Ink Circles - "Reflections of New Orleans."

Yay to Barbs!! I gave up for awhile with stitching on dark fabric because I couldn’t see it well enough. Aida is the perfect solution because you mostly find the holes by feel. I was actually thinking of talking about this on a future video!

@@stitchbrat I think that would be a great subject, especially if you have any tips for finding the holes when they are already occupied by 1 or more threads. Oh, and when you have some suitable for a demo, I would be interested in seeing how you determine where to cut variegated floss to minimize abrupt transitions.

If my floss is somewhat fuzzy I will run the strand over a lightly damp sponge and that usually calms it down. I enjoy seeing the variety of your pieces, especially the game board.

I am so enjoying your videos. Your stitching is lovely, Had to laugh when I saw your Latin reference book as it brought back a memory from sophomore year at IU. A surprise exam after Thanksgiving required a piece, in Latin, of our holiday. There is no word in Latin for turkey, so I used "vera Magnus pullum"! (Really big chicken.) I received a bump in my grade for that because, I was told, trying always counts. I still remember that at 75 years old! Now....I think I want to cross stitch a turkey piece for Thanksgiving. Because trying always counts!

Oh my…3 strands over 1 sounds saturated yes but slow going. I imagine you need to be careful not to use very long strands as you stitch to prevent fuzzing of the floss. You get a lot done in a short period of time. Wow.
