Great idea for the Year of the Dragon SAL… one pattern that I have on my list is Dragon Field Notes from Unconventional Stitcher it’s a beautiful pattern. The Lancashire Stitcher has a floss tube and she show her progress. It’s a massive stitch but will be stunning once completed.

I will be one of those stitchers with a box full of beautiful finished stitches that I just get out to look at from time to time. I’m a big proponent of stitching for the joy of it. If you feel drawn to a chart, stitch it anyway, even if you know it will never be displayed. You’ll still have the pleasure of watching it come to life!

So far I haven't been able to get on instagram, but Sunday I'm hoping my children will help. I have been so excited about this sal, I did 2 last year, and I have 3 to do this year. Jan I finished the "Messenger" by Fire Wings Designs. But the one I'm starting Feb. 10th I'm doing "Book Guard" by Vitaliya Mishchuk . My third one which I already done twice is "Tea Time Companion" by Ingleside Imaginarium, this one I enlarged to a 7.5 inch square.

Hi Arica - I think your second option is really nice because it includes some Chinese characters so it might be more in keeping with the Chinese year of the dragon. And definitely do it on the red fabric. For the biscornu, why not use the 4 points from the design on the front for the bottom of it? Your Told in a garden piece would look nice on the wall behind you maybe in a dull gold frame.

I have never beaded looking forward to your video on that. Would love to know how you are dealing with all the confetti stitching on your peacock, do you travel alot, or use another method to cut down on the bulk that would add to the back of the project in doing so?
@FibersandFlossCanada
8 ай бұрын
Thanks for tuning in :) I will be making the braid my video next week I hope so keep your eyes peeled! It’s pretty easy so long as you steer clear from the invisible thread lol! For the confetti… sigh…. I started off not travelling but in the end there is going to be bulk either way (lots of ends or travelling threads…) so I’m travelling up to 7 stitch lengths (I usually don’t travel more than 4 but these leaves are something else). This way I feel it saves time as it is already a rather slow stitch. I suppose I should see if there’s some good confetti videos….

Oh wow thank you so much 😊 yes I am stitching 2 over 2. I did contemplate changing the size of the fabric versus over 1 but with the amount of fractional stitches I think it would actually change the look of the design and with nearly all threads being blends I wouldn’t be able to fit the 2-3 floss strands over the 1 thread. I talk more about this in my Wentzler video too ;)
