that's the reason why i removed all QDC except the ones on the direct die and with 2x Alphacool D5 VPP755 V3 i have 335 L/h Flow now. I tested many QDC from Koolance QD3 old&new batch an Alphacool and for every one male/female it restricts your flow from 7 to 9 L/h...

good vid, your results are very similiar to what i had with 4 D5's. just for general knowledge, 2 ehiem 1260 pumps in parallel, about 10ft of tubing total length, 7gal res nets me 604LPH.

That’s really really good flow man! Congrats on that. I did consider going with Eheims. But, I already had most of these pumps tucked away and 420L/H is phenomenal for my setup. What I am gonna to do is convert them all down to dual tops and I will add (1) more D5. So it will be (3) physical pump units only they are dual D5’s each. The Aqua tuning dual D5 top is super nice and not very expensive. I really am liking the sound of those Eheims now though lol.

Purchased another chiller (S&A CW-5200-TH) with pump included. Using 4M of tubing + 4090 WB + Supercool CPU DDie BLock and RAM Block I have 6L/min. Not much different than your setup with 5x D5s. Still is a great setup :D, probably a little more expensive with all those extra pumps. Regards

Nice and informative video brother. Good work. As I wrap it out... 5 pumps and 400l/h with your longer loop means more restrictive vs mine. And you have a much bigger water reservoir that may also restict the flow rate. Only that can explain why I get +380l/h with only two D5 pumps with the same Aquacomputer flow sensor. Remember also colder water temp from your chiller means you get sligthly lower flow rate. Next time maybe test with hotter water temp from the chiller to see if you get higher flow rate. But 400l/h is still a great results. Thanks for the video🙂

380L/H seems really really high for just (2) D5’s. That would mean you are getting about 1.7 gallon per minute. Maybe it’s possible though.

Yup, I have seen above 390l/h with higher water temps. But I have max 6Feet with tubes. Or half the lenght vs your setup :)@@videocardzrule354

Good info! I went water chiller because of your videos. And now I’m not lol. Not because it did not work. Just because for the noise. The cooler I got was too loud for my liking. If anyone in the Dallas area and want a killer deal on a chiller let me know.

I’m sorry about the noise, these units are like 50-60dB for sure. What kind of chiller do you have?

how were the pumps set up ? pump in series will increase head pressure and a little bit of flow rate. pumps in paralle will increase flow rate.

Man, please check out thermal influence of each pump, I mean what about cpu, gpu temps after you switch on each pump one by one

Interesting video. Thanks for share that. On one of my systems I get 310 l/h with two D5 pumps (one is a VPP755). On the larger system with the chiller I get 244 l/h from three pumps, but that has the MORA 360, about 30 feet of tubing, chiller and the 5 gallon tank. I think the larger the system is, the more pumps it takes to move that volume of water. With the pumps installed in series I wonder how much the flow is impeded when one or more pumps is turned off and fewer pumps have to force water through the pumps that are not turned on? It would be interesting to see how the results could change if only one pump was installed, then after each additional pump is installed (versus only turned off).

I would take a D5 from the smaller system and add it to your larger rig with a D5 top only. The smaller system has low restriction and (1) D5 should be perfect for it, it will probably still get 200L/H. Then I would add the 4th D5 to the big system. I do want to mention this, In the video when I turn on the 4th D5, that 4th D5 is the 2nd pump in a dual D5 top. So, I think that may have something to do with it only gaining 75-77 L/H when the 4th D5 is turned on. I think if you add a 4th it’s gonna be a large boost in your situation, since you are getting 244L/H, it would probably push you to 350-370 L/H range. I think pushing water through a D5 pump that is not running, is like flowing through a 90 degree firing.

@@videocardzrule354no I don't want to do that because that system is working flawlessly and that might reduce its ability to cool as well as it does. I purchased a fourth D5 pump for the larger system. All of my pumps (both systems) are on the high pressure side of each system. The coolant exiting the systems has no pump between it and the coolant storage reservoir. I may experiment and put one pump on the low pressure side to "suck" water through while the others are pushing it. How is yours set up?

wonder if you can try combine series and parallel configuration from rads to block see if it increase flow rate while maintain good head pressure. Basically just rad -> Y split -> 2x 2 pump in series -> Y split -> pump 5 -> rad(s) -> blocks.
@videocardzrule354

I prefer to run them in this configuration because it doubles the head pressure. Your method will double the flow most likely, but not the pressure. But I would love to see how it would perform! Probably 800-900L/H maybe? I don’t have any rads, just tank and chiller.

@@videocardzrule354 please try since I havent seen anyone done it yet. I have a large garden using pump in series parallel configuration to reduce cost and flow rate. I know it works but not sure how it does in close loop. Can check the math here kzitem.info/news/bejne/omxnl56Prn2olIosi=yQ6f9dbu4k2R3OdU

@@videocardzrule354I just checked some ppl, you probably get >600 l/h with series n parallel configuration. 3 pumps are pretty much hitting diminishing return. So configure dual D5 in parallel and add one more for series then you have 3x head pressure of a single D5 and 2 x flow rate of a single D5.

So I’m running 3 d5’s now but about to extend my tubing from 12 feet total to 25-28 feet… should I add 2 more d5’s? Current flow is 301 L/H

Yes I definitely would recommend high flow and high pressure for that much tubing!! Go grab (2) Alphacool VPP755V3 for cheap, and put them on the Aquatuning Dual D5 top, or EKWB dual D5 top. You can also just add (1) Eheim 1262 pump but it is 110V plug 🔌.
