I've been boxing for years. Every time I see such a pad work(focus mitts) of that intensity, I wonder. Punches of that kind of intensity cannot cause any shock to the opponent, does anyone know what the purpose of that training is?
@opmuri33
2 ай бұрын
If I had to guess muscle memory is very important at this point he can throw any combination of punches with out even thinking about it. Power is very easy to adjust its all about the feel of what your doing. Think of a pianist they can play soft or aggressive but we don’t say they suck because they are practice with out the added aggression or in this case explosiveness.
@user-ti5go1ef5g
2 ай бұрын
@@opmuri33 Of course muscle memory is important, but Mayweather's Focus Meat Combination training seems not practical no matter how much I think about it. Combination training itself looks cool but I don't even know what form it comes out of the real competition. Anyway thank you for sharing your thoughts.
@mataafa1
Ай бұрын
@@user-ti5go1ef5gmay not seem practical but the evidence is it’s precision muscle memory that happens instantly for him now . The purpose of the mitt work if you hear Roger break it down is so that no matter what position Floyd’s in no matter what pinch he throws he knows what to throw after that punch and if he has to slip roll catch block etc etc that there is always a punch to shoot off that and then also always keeping the perfect range and distance etc etc etc
