I have the RT-82 model. Only difference b/t mine and the one you have is that it comes with a different needle. I tried an RPM app on my phone and its gave me 33.52rpm. I didn't put the phone over the spindle though, just on top of the mat. I really enjoy the turntable. Its not bad for the money.

From what you can buy new this is one of the better entry level turntables, although personaly in the price bracket up to 500 bucks i would not buy a new turntable but a old one from late seventies/early eighties. Not because i like the vintage looks, but because those are mostly way (!) better quality.

Had a Dual 1219 since in the early 70's and have restored Duals as a hobby for a few years. So much success selling my restored Duals I sold my 1219. Purchased a Fluance RT 84 with a Ortofon Blue cartridge. Very happy with it. Really like having something that just works without frequent maintenance

I've had mine (RT-83) for just over a year now. Solid table! The only drawback is the lack of upgrades outside of the Ortofon brand and head shell. It doesn't come with a built in preamp (at least the latter models don't). And you can't change out the tonearm, in which the dimensions in general are unique to this brand. But if you aren't looking for anything fancy, this is one of the better budget models out there. I think I might upgrade to the Fluance acrylic platter (a little over $100), and possibly the 2m bronze stylus (just over $400). But in all actuality, it might just be best to save up and get a better turntable that allows for more aftermarket upgrades. Tbh though, this table sounds better than more expensive setups that I've heard. And there are at least 3-4 more Ortofon stylus/s that you can upgrade to. It all just depends on how far you're willing to go with the hobby

That is one amazing speed app on your phone! I take it that the added weight of a cellphone vs vinyl is not a factor in speed? Great review. Rega, Planar, Fluance and NAD all have interesting TT's in sub $800 but I'm keeping my old 1986 Dual for now. Great to see your channel is up for a new season!

I don't have a grudge against Fluance, I actually was considering buying one but build quality is a joke compared to 70's turntables you examined. It's not only turntable tbh every equipment nowadays are a cheapie until you pay big money.

I have a RT84 , and i absolutely love it! Had it two and half years now! Sounds like higher price TTs do!😊😊😊 PS you have to give it 30 seconds at the lock groove at the end of the record until it shuts off!

Great review. Nice to have you back. Ill stick with my SP-10, but it is a nice noob table. Looks a bit cheap and gimmicky IMO, but different strokes. $472.99 will get you a fully restored SL-Q3 with plenty of money to spare for some LP's.

I just got the Rt82 and mine wont auto off either. It starts but wont turn itself off. I spoke with Fluance support and they tryed to tell me it could take up to s minute to turn itself off. Obviosly he was wrong. Full manual mode for me. Not letting my stylus grind away on the lable for a minute. Doubtfull it would ever shut off.

@butchnoneed4883 Im happy with the table itself, i just ordered the acrilic platter and have a couple of different stylus shell combos , i have the orto blue, a pickoring tl3 with a vivid line, a shure v15 with a vivid. The tl3 and the v15 are about the same , hard to beat the 30db channel separation on the vintage carts. They smoke the orto blue. Just wish the table was full manual without a control board that appears to be failing. I just tried mine again and it failed to shut off, a vivid line stylus is 159.00 , just not willing to let it grind the label sorry not worth it.

its too expensive to me the rega is a solid wood type tt but the fluance is a hollow body and there are a lot of reviewers who review this TT and mislead people by saying it is solid wood it is wood but not solid ,these are made in china there other models out there made in china that have soild wood bodies and are half the price as you can see it had the typical aluminum platter very ringy I would never buy one they are nice and well built but noy for that price ,I love the piano finish it would not bother me about finger prints why do you have to touch parts of tt that you don't need to its a finger print magnet if you slap your hand on tt thee is nothing to touch on tt except tone arm cueing lever and thats it I don't like the logo it looks like cheap plastic its glued on why not use something like a nice shiny metal type they are charging a lot for this use some of the money and get a less cheaper looking badge JRo

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul
