The Fluval U2 and U3 filter for aquariums is a beast. I highly suggest them if your wanting an inside tank filter. Fluval really knows how to efficiently make fish tank filters.
More random fish talk:
Your support is not good and supported only on corners. You need beter build stand and flat top (playwood). Also you need polystyrene under the tank to adjust the uneven parts. The bottom should distribute the weight across and be well supported otherwise this happening. The glass itself cannot support the weight in the air.
Watch some youtube videos how to build good stand. I did build mine and supports 850L tank which is over a ton with stones and substrate and the stand can hold 4 times the weight.
When supported on corners and tank is full , from the weight the bottom glass try to adjust, and level up. The glass has very little tolerance of twist and will hold until one day give up. That's why full support is essential.
There should never be any pressure on the bottom glass. Newer tanks are meant to support weight only on vertical edges which has the plastic trim. Only flat bottom tanks are meant to have weight supported by the bottom.
Yeah but you said to put polystyrene under the tank because the glass itself cannot support the weight in the air. Unless by under, you did not mean the area under the bottom glass. There should not be anything under that area pressing up.
Yea, it's one of the reasons I stopped dealing with large aquariums. When my 75 broke and drowned my bedroom I gave up the hobby for 4 years. Now I'm back in and been going for 2 years again. Doing 10 gallons and anything under that. I currently have two 9 gallon fluval flex aquariums and a fluval spec 5 gallon when you post pics I'll just comment mine in the comments of yours. Pic for pic basically.
I'm so sorry for your loss.... I fear this happening daily. My 20g is fully supported across the bottom, though my 10g has an identical stand to yours, just in a smaller size. I will definitely be adding a piece of plywood to it after seeing these and reading the comments.
Is the way it’s skin looks something to be worried about? Just kinda swimming not real interested in food. Don’t know if it’s something that can infect my others?? Thanks in advance!
