Great, beautiful, singing. Also, I would sure love to have the advertised guitar backing track. Any leads on how I can get what you're singing over? I'd like to practice comps and leads on my guitar to it. And maybe try some ambitious baritone stumbling about of my own without the simultaneous performance of a far out of my league vocal.

Funny how I constantly avoid playing these root 7th 3rd (5th) or root 3rd 7th (9th) chords which are 75% of the chords in this guitar comping because I first learned them on electric bass and in my mind guitar jazz chords have to be more complicated than that (which is wrong) (I mostly use diatonic substitutions which I have to calculate in real time because of that e.g. for a Cmaj7 play a Am7 to sound C6, a Em7 to sound Cmaj9, a E7sus4 to sound C6/9, etc... ) , I guess I have to sometimes relax and use more basic things. Very nice comping by the way dude. 😀Okay, back to singing now... 😅

Saustark, Judith!!

Your voice is beautiful!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I am writing to you from Chile and I am learning self-taught scat, with Bob Stoloff's book !! and with your videos! I would like to see if you could give me some advice to make my practice as productive as possible and I was left with the doubt that you use scales to improvise? pentatonic? blues? modes? how do you think to improvise? by chord? or by harmonic progressions ?? 😱😱 I hope you can help me understand I will be very very grateful to you ❤️

😱😱😱❤️❤️❤️ Thank you very much for taking the time to write to me, I really appreciate it !! I find that you have a really beautiful voice ❤️❤️ and that you tell me that I have a good voice is a tremendous honor 🙏🙏🙏, and you really want me to sing “fly me to the moon? because I am happy to do it 🎙🎙 and it would be an honor to share my video with you !!! good regarding if I play any instrument? If I play the piano and guitar, I studied music at university and I know the scales, modes, pentatonics and blues, I play them and I recognize them auditory! but I'm just embarking on being able to sing them !! I did improvise on a song but I never took it seriously! I think that I am missing, I have never taken alone with the voice! Although I really like Charlie Parker, John Coaltrane, Chet Baker, and I have never released a single, but now I will do it! and the music I listen to is soul, funk, rock, bossa nova, blues !! both in Spanish and especially in English !!

The other question that I have and that I find very difficult to carry out is the syllables to be used when improvising. alone! but happy if you give me some tips ❤️
