An awesome job Jim! Thanks. I really appreciate that you took the time to tie this one; I am a visual learner and I plan to tie this pattern in several sizes this winter. I am learning a lot of little tricks that make tying easier and more durable flies watching your videos. Thanks again, Rob

I didn't think of that but your right it does look like a sculpin. That gives me ideas for modifications. I'm going to work on it. Thanks! Jim

I think this is probably one of the best flies I've fished. I've caught my best carp (35 lbs), some huge smallmouth, and countless big wild brown and brook trout using this fly. It's just a killer, so much fluid motion.

you can find muskrat fur patches on most of the online fly shops or on Ebay, I found many nice Muskrat tanned pelts on Ebay too. Mike

RE: The dubbing - do you put muskrat, raccoon, and coyote into a coffee grinder to make it?

I used a coffee grinder to mix dubbing one time. When my wife found out and the swelling went down I went back to mixing by hand. I mix all dubbing by hand.

The Sparrow is a similar fly that I've found to be very effective. I purchased the materials for this but the Muskrat patch I got was very small with very few long hairs. Any tips on where I can get a patch with the longer hairs? I've seen people selling full patches on eBay for $10 bucks. Does anyone use those? Thanks
