The Parachute style of flies is a slight twist on the traditional mayfly dry fly. It works especially well due to the low profile on the water, giving a very real presentation to the fish. The Parachute Adams is an old pattern but it works very well as an attractor pattern, and on rivers with relatively low fishing pressure it can be used to imitate a variety of insects which can save your butt if you don't have the right fly during a hatch.
Materials I used to tie this fly:
Hook: Standard dry fly #14
Thread: Danville 70 Denier Flymaster Plus
Tail: Moose Mane
Body: Spirit River dry fly dubbing (Adams)
Post: White Calf body
Hackle: whiting Dark Barred Ginger Saddle
Special Thanks to Kirk Ward and Jon Crossley for their help in making this video.
