Blimey! What an informative video! A sea of visual theory, which is so lacking! Thank you very much for the video! Please do not hesitate to share such information! It can't be boring! This is very interesting for those who want to start designing their own fly!

Gunnar-I can’t tell you how illuminating your observations and explanations have truly opened my eyes to fly design. You are very comparable to the best professor I had in college , yet more-informative( and I enjoy your vids far-more than college)!!

I was really into tube flies a few years ago. A great concept, but I really didn't like how they fished. Gunnar addresses all of the problems I had with tube flies in this video. I am looking forward to getting back on the tube vise. I spent a fortune on tube supplies that have essentially sat in limbo for years. Great video! Can't wait for Gunnar's next tutorial.

Excellent as always Gunnar! I have always considered balance, center of pressure, material selection etc. when designing my flies but you take all that to a new level! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm! Looking forward to the tube fly tutorials - I need some 4 -5 inch patterns for the smallmouth bass I fish the local lakes for. Cheers! Hank

Well the timing could not have been better . I have been contemplating tying tube flies for the past couple of years and going through all the options ( which there are lots ) . It has all become much more clear to me now .I have always liked the concept of tying patterns with different actions but have done it the conventional way for years . This really simplifies that and will really cut down on time behind the vice . As much as I like tying I like being out on the water with a fly rod in my hand better :-)

Your videos are an excellent source of information for ideas on flies and how to fish them. The detailing of your thoughts and deductions to the function of the fly design, I really enjoy. In Oregon I fish for salmon and steelhead but, I always find useful ideas of yours to apply in making my patterns. Do you make flies for carp fishing? I'd enjoy listening to one of your hour long videos on that subject. Keep up the great videos.

Great video! I’ve been tying pike flies on tubes for a couple years now and really like the durability aspect. Glad you touched on how well they move once you get the mass/momentum correct. Keep up the good work and next time you are in T.C. I would like to pick your brain on some pike fly ideas
