Well done! I like to use a dab of Gulf resin to make 3’D eyes. And now I know River Road has the Morrish cutters…more money to be spent on tying equipment…and excellent video, as always!

Best hopper pattern I have found.. Great on any species that eat terrestrials. I have caught Bluegills, smallies, largemouth, trout, carp, all on the same fly. Obviously, a guy wants to go a little larger, sometimes, forthe bass species. GREAT FLY!!! (try it with "flesh" colored foam as the bottom color).

Late to the party here, but I love this pattern and I also love that storage box you're using for all the pre-cut bodies. Do you remember where you got that or who manufactures it? I am on an endless search for a durable storage box with curved bottoms and built-in compartment walls like this one. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your amazing videos!

Skew Whompus - A highly technical Fly Tyers term that I understood perfectly. Not for nothing they call them Crazy Legs. Great Vid. You sound like Dax Shepard from Without a Paddle :)

Is there really any reason to fish any other hopper patterns when this one looks so realistic?

I've heard some claim that on especially bright days the trout respond better to hoppers with natural materials as there is some translucence. I've not observed any difference or tested this myself.

How hard would it be to put a parachute on the top ?
@FlyFishFood

It wouldn't add anything to the fly and it would add about 14 more steps to get it to look natural.

Have a look at Mop Hopper fly on KZitem and improve the tying of your fly back legs: the segments angle will easily be 90 degrees,

Great vid. Is that a hand whip finish or just a few half-hitches? Just asking as I am learning to hand whip finish, but it is more complicated than that, I think.

Any tips on keeping the lid from gluing shut on the Wapsi glue? No matter how hard I try to keep it clean my bottles always end up glued shut.

Great pattern! Thanks for sharing. Do you ever have issues with the super glue doing funky things to the rubber legs? On a few occasions, I've had the glue cause the rubber to deteriorate - some weird chemical reaction I guess.

BadDismount427 yeah. Glue can mess with them for sure. Just make sure to use a minimal amount.

My hopper body's are way too tall. What is the thickness of your bodies? I glued 3mm and 2mm to make 5mm is that too much?
@mattweber5242

I did try and trim it's profile down but I don't like the way it looks. Your hopper bodies are on point.

It depends on the size of the fly. I like 4mm for size 12, 5mm for size 10, and 6mm for size 8-6
