I’ve flown UA1 and UA2, which is 17 hours to and from San Francisco to Singapore. Idk how you felt on this flight, but at around hour 8 or 9, time just stopped existing, and at some point, we landed. Me and my late mother flew direct London - Perth - Melbourne (and return) in 2018 and it was much better than flying via Dubai or Singapore we managed to get the rear two seats (next to the toilets) at the very back of the aircraft both ways so we had no one sitting with us which was really good and handy for mum to find the toilets. It was much better for the jet lag as mum had suffered before going via Dubai but had no problems going direct.
@SapphireBlueTravelExplores

@@SapphireBlueTravelExploresyes we had more space between the second seat and the window for baggage and no hassle of anyone wanting to climb over us or us to climb over we hardly noticed being close to the toilets and it was much easier for mum as she had broken her arm then and was still in plaster and a sling. "to amuse" > Not so many decades before, in the 40s and 50s Empire flying boats would take 5-10 days to travel from London to Australia, that's kinda fun, in the 30s and 40s whenever an aircraft arrived typically one or two a week, there would be a small function at the embassy with a handing over of diplomatic mail and newspapers which course the stewardesses would be expected to attend, and it was while I was flying in the 1960s and 70s that the words "stewardesses are only allowed to take one ball gown on flights" was deleted from the cabin crew manual.., but there was also a sector between Cairo and Luxor/Karnac in Egypt and if you look at the Nile River at Luxor/Karnac you will note that there is absolutely straight section of Nile river 4-5 miles long, the flying boats would literally tie-up outside what is now the Winter Palace hotel, previously the Egyptian Kings Winter Palace (last-gasp of the age of Agatha Christie? ;) ) Very best wishes and thank you for posting :) John, Scarborough, WA

I am a frequent flyer and 777 is the worst widebody plane in the sky these days. As far as quietness is concerned, it's A380 followed by A350, A330neo, B787, B330ceo, B777, B767. Cabin humidity wise, it's A350, B787, A330neo, A380, B777, B767. Airbus aircraft are superior to Boeing's when it comes to passenger comfort. I usually get hate comments but I am an American so there goes honesty. I pick A350 and A380 any day of the week and it takes a lot to get me onto a B777 or B787.
